Letter To Blizzard Over The Japanese Server Debacle (please read)!
Dear Blizzard, I like many others were automatically assigned the U.S. and SE Asia server when I signed up to Hearthstone from my home in Japan. I read today that Hearthstone is finally coming to Japan. Like many others, I've longed for a local scene (tournaments and events) for some time and am incredibly excited to see it happen. After a bit of digging around on your site however I find that low and behold the Japanese game will default to the Asia server; despite my account (immediately after inputting a Japanese address) defaulting to US/SE Asia! This is absolutely horrifying, I've invested a huge amount of time, effort and real world cash into the game I love the most and I'm now being excluded from it due to a bureaucratic error on your end.
To your credit, you were aware of this problem for the World Championship qualifiers and offered the use of Blizzard provided accounts with all of the cards available to it for players coming from Japan with US sever accounts. Now however this problem goes beyond the small handful of players entering into the World Championships and affects everyone in Japan who was defaulted to the U.S. server and would like to compete in tournaments in their own country and cannot through no fault of their own. This is clearly a problem that goes well beyond myself as your own site states that hundreds of thousands of players have been playing here in Japan prior to the release of the localised client. Please Blizzard, make amends and expend some resources to solve this problem. Surely everyone has the right to enter their own county's tournaments and events.
Edit: This is clearly a serious injustice for all us committed players in Japan. I really want to present this issue to Blizzard, does anyone have any advice about how I should do that?
Edit 2: I've been pointed at this petition to request Blizzard to not change Japan's sever to Asia and keep them where they are. Please sign!

Not at all. We want to honor the players in Japan who founded the local community even before there was official support for it. For those players, there's more information yet to come.
In the meantime, there were a number of players who were concerned that their Americas accounts would be deleted outright, and we wanted to make sure that those players knew that wouldn't be happening.
