Using the random cardback actually shows it when vieweing a card.

    What does it show when opening packs?

    It’ll roll a different cardback for you each time you enter the pack opening screen.

    I was going to try and answer your question, but apparently I don't have the Random Cardback!

    The Random Cardback is greyed out . . .

    . . . and there is no option to "Make Favorite" when inspecting it!

     

    Edit: This was logged into a different server than I normally play since I didn't want to buy a pack on my main just to test this. As a result, my collection only includes 4 cardbacks. Perhaps you must have obtained a minimum number of cardbacks before the random option is available.

    Yeah, iirc it becomes available once you have 5 cardbacks.
