Solving the musical secret of the statue's toes.

UPDATE:

It's been solved!

You need to play the tune for Elise's new card, which is also part of the League of Explorer's main theme.

The rubies need to be set to the sound like an accordion on both feet for it to work.

Notes: Bb-Bb Eb, G Ab-Ab Eb, Ab Bb Eb-Eb G-G F

Toe number (left to right): 4 4 6 1 2 2 6 2 4 6 6 10 10 8

Hey reddit,

We have a new board, and it comes with what we must assume is a musical secret!

I love these things (and was the first to crack the UnGoro volcano secret back on its release day).

Now we have a new and more complicated problem to solve on the toes of the giant statue....

We have 10 notes split into two chromatic scales (G Ab A Bb B, Eb E F F# G) and two rubies that don't play notes but switch each of the two feet between three different possible keyboard effects. This time, randomly tapping notes until something happens is going to take a long time due to the increase in possible combinations of the 10 notes (e.g. if the sequence is 5 notes then there are 31,240 possible sequences, not counting those with repetition of notes, and trying one 5 note sequence a second would take around 8 hours 53 minutes.)

So, I have tried to take a logical approach:

I have tried the themes for each of the 14 Uldum legendaries, but none of them trigger anything:

Elise: Bb-Bb Eb, Ab-Ab Eb, Ab-Bb Eb-Eb G-G F (update - I was one note out!)

Reno: F G F G F-F Eb

Finlay: G G-G, Ab G F G G-G, G Ab A B C G-G

Brann: B-Bb, Bb-Bb-Bb, Bb-Bb-Bb Bb-Bb-Bb Bb Bb (a bit boring on piano)

High Priest Amet: C F A Ab

Anka, the Buried: A F Eb D, F Eb D

Vessina: C C# C Eb C#

Dark Pharoah Tekahn: D Db Bb G A

Armagedillo: C, C C# E Eb C# C

Zephrys the Great: C A B Ab, C A B Ab F Ab

Siamat: D (some frill, then D) - unlikely to be a solution as D is not a key on the toes

Octosari: Eerie chord in Eb

Colossus of the Moon: E F E, E C# E, E F E F

King Phaoris: E C B Bb Eb C B, C B

(N.B. you can't actually play three notes, C, C# or D on the toes, but these notes do appear in some legendary themes)

I also thought it might be the theme from Uldum in Wow (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpGM6oeC8zk) but it goes B C B G, which we can't play because of the C.

I also tried the same notes from the Ungoro board (D G E G A), but of course there is no D in this board. However, the last two notes of the cinematic trailer when they sing "Ul-duuuum" are also G and A, so there may be some pattern here.

Then I thought it could be something to do with the hieroglyphs that appear on the paving stones in the top right, but I can't figure out any musical pattern in them.

Maybe if a dev like /u/mdonais could at least let us know if there IS a trigger, then we can continue trying to find it....

Congratulations! You solved it a lot faster than I expected!

Our sound and affects team worked hard to get that special event in at the last minute. As far as I know it is the only one.

Hello! I was keeping my question for AMAs, but since I found the super cool FX Artist Hadidjah here I'm just going to pass my request. Can you please make can't be targetted by spells and hero powers and Shadowform animation more transparent so the characters are more visible?

=) I'm actually doing a readability pass on a couple of the persistent FX in the next few weeks, I can add these to the list of ones for us to talk about, thanks!

Oh! Oh! Oh! I’ve always wondered if there is a secret recipe for Witchwood’s cauldron o:

    There’s not, we ran out of last minutes on that one, sorry. ;-;

He said on stream that there might be one, but not sure if he wasn't just messing with us. :)

No there is not, and I don't think I said that there might be one.
