Can I use artworks made by myself before the contest or do I need to make a new one right now?

Submitting existing work is against the spirit of the challenge. We are asking everyone to make something new specifically for the contest. That is the “challenge” part of the contest. You have until December 1st so there is plenty of time. Good luck!

When the rules say "an original piece inspired by World of Warcraft or Hearthstone characters", do they mean like an original creation inspired by them or just an original drawing which could include these characters in the artist's original style?

That means any existing character in the WoW or Hearthstone universe. However, if you want to draw and paint a new character of your own invention that would be great also. For example, maybe you have an idea for a unique Night Elf or goblin. We love to see it. Maybe you've always wanted to make a painting of Illidan. We'd love to see that also.

    Only digital art? :[

No, all art is welcome. Many Heartstone artist paint in oil, acrylic and gouache. We just ask after you paint the image scan or photograph the painting and then upload a digital file.

Hey! I already started my painting, but it's horizontal. Isn't that against the rules?

I think it's fine but part of the challenge was to see how you could design to the minion oval frame. We're you making a spell card?
