Y'all at Riot getting too horny with the skins when Mundo is hot. It's not because things can't be horny, buy feels like it's one note this year. Feather the gas a bit.

@MorelloNMST Not sure if this is a serious comment, am curious what the appropriate thing to do in these circumstances is. When there is clear data pointing to players being interested in characters that are attractive, when you do decide to ignore that for the sake of character diversity?

@MorelloNMST As a designer, my instinct is to create characters/poses/themes that hit on a wide range of fantasy. As a person who wants to create things players want to engage with, it can often feel like onenote is the answer.

@MorelloNMST If I remember right, you spent a lot of time working on Valorant where traditional 'hotness' was a pretty common theme among all characters. Any insight from that experience?

@MorelloNMST also *slowly backs away if this was just a meme comment about mundo being hot* https://t.co/WPH2XoHkkg

@IksarHS Valorant did stray away from hornier designs overall because we had two major considerations; hitbox uniformity (so all humans with the same shape) and blending heroic powers with tactical believability. So in that case, it's much more about a tighter creative pallet

@MorelloNMST Breach is the only character I can think of who doesn't fit the into the 'megahot' character design box. I don't have the data, but I'd guess his popularity is strongly correlated to that decision.

@MorelloNMST So assuming my wildly speculative opinion is true, these are the circumstances that can be difficult for me to navigate. Next time I want to make a new Breach and someone says hey, this decision is going to make people want to play this character less...

@MorelloNMST Instead you should make a character where hotness is authentic to their vibe, difficult to come up with the words to defend more Breach. (BREACH I'M SORRY I PERSONALLY LOVE YOU ITS JUST AN EXAMPLE)

@MorelloNMST also if you are reading this and you don't think brimstone is hot: https://t.co/ftCHNL1NBO

@MorelloNMST Anyway, I appreciate the insight. Looking forward to what you are building next!

@IksarHS This is a good question to ask. I think diversity of release is important for the long term health of creative content. A more gradual shift is better, imo. Players definitely tend to like attractive characters more; and that's ok to act on..

@IksarHS But things where a character has other appeal that's more niche, then changing that from "haha goofy monster" to "step on me daddy" is a shift that I think *feels* inauthentic. And authenticity is more important than popularity of an individual content piece

@MorelloNMST I definitely agree the spectrum of goofy <--> step on me was shifted for Mundo with this update.

@MorelloNMST I don't know if I'm the minority but my reaction as a Mundo main was: *tear of joy* "I'm hot now babyyyy!!!11"
