Still available in-game somehow, like adventures? No. Seasonal? Yes. Hearthstone pre-purchase or other bundles? Yes. Cross-game promotions? No. High-skill based (Legend, Golden Celebration)? No. Live events? Depends how wide-spread available they were. BlizzCon is a No.

These aren't hard and fast rules; some exceptions may be made in one direction or another, and there are a billion different ways that cardbacks have been given out over the year so no one solution always fits.

@Celestalon How permanent are these? After also buying Wailing Caverns with gold, I bought all the card backs I was missing (there was a brief period in late 2014 I stopped playing, otherwise I've gotten every month). Will the heroes be around?

@Bestorb The Collection Manager purchases aren't temporary. That's not to say they couldn't change like cards change, but it would be the exception.
