      @PlayHearthstone Also fun fact: Achievements points serve no purpose smh. I wished Achievement points can be more useful. Like every milestone u would a pack or something? Would be cool

                    @AndyF1069 @blast703 @NanoLeon3000 @PlayHearthstone Traditionally, achievement systems are NOT a primary reward system, and the majority of achievements only reward achievement points which are nothing but bragging rights. But some specific achievements do grant unique rewards.

                          @AndyF1069 @blast703 @NanoLeon3000 @PlayHearthstone This creates a system that is effectively more of a long term quest system, disguised as an achievement system. And it's a pretty reasonable design. Another game I play actively, Shop Titans, has a light version of this. It's especially common in newer mobile f2p games.

Hearthstone uses Traditional style, which leads to people only familiar with DisguisedQuest style to ask questions like "What are achievement points used for?"

Meanwhile, Traditional-familiar people are like "Used for? Huh? That's a bizarre question. They're achievement points. They're not used for anything, obviously."

I did reply to a response earlier legitimately asking for an example of a game that let's you spend achievement points because I truly may have missed them (and clearly I didn't consider a f2p/mobile game aspect either)

The different perspectives on how achievements (and other gameplay functions) must be a tricky line to balance as a game developer
