@RavenCasts On the subject if I may ask a Brit? Do you all really curse that much, including in front of children, or is that exaggerated TV embellishment? 😬😂

@ben_heathstone Well I think there are plenty of places, UK or not, that people swear in front of Children but I try not too, but ye swearing is very normal here. I remember being in an In 'n' Out in America and and old man was giving me dirty looks because I said "Fucking hell" or something :D

@RavenCasts @ben_heathstone I feel like profanity in the US has gone down a bunch in the past 15 or so years. Not a bad thing IMO

@CrunchTime4L @RavenCasts @ben_heathstone Yeah, that’s my impression as well. I think it’s quite generational, and regional. I’m sure there are others who disagree, but around me, the public areas I visit, profanity is normal. (Mostly, anyway. There are a couple words that are still considered taboo to utter.)

@CrunchTime4L @RavenCasts @ben_heathstone Oh, I might have misinterpreted Crunch’s comment now that I reread. Do you mean gone down in usage? Or the tabooness has gone down? Very obviously the latter, to me.

@Celestalon @RavenCasts @ben_heathstone I meant gone down in usage. I may be totally wrong but I feel like you don’t hear people using it as much. Especially gay, racial slurs. Obviously ymmv depending on the area your in.

@CrunchTime4L @RavenCasts @ben_heathstone Oh, there's a difference between slurs that are putting people down (usage of these has gone down), and general profanity ("Fuck that hurt!" "Dude this burger tastes so fucking good right now") which has definitely gone way up as far as I've heard.
