The way it works is that it checks if you are missing any Legendaries (this counts any art version, pre-purchase or regular). If you are missing any, you get a random base portrait for one you're missing.

If you own them all, it selects a random *base* Legendary to award you. If you already own the base version of the one it randomly selected, it converts to coins for that merc. If you don't already own the base version of that merc, you just get the base version you rolled.

That's why some people who have all the legendary mercs got a base copy of a merc they got through pre-purchase, whereas others in that same situation got 100 coins for a different merc.

I saw that some of you were unhappy with how that random roll came out for you. And I completely understand how it's not what you expected. That's feedback I've shared with the team.

@hsdecktech It’s only 100 coins?! Bruh… Not gonna lie, I feel like this is one of the worst things to ever hit the Hearthstone store.

@BitBeaker That’s the normal duplicate conversion rate for Legendaries. There are better value ways of getting coins. This product is more for people trying to fill out their collection.

@hsdecktech @BitBeaker Not really. Std duplicate legendary dust for 400, so that's 1/4. Merc legendary gives hundred coins, so 1/5. Definitely a bit worse for the conversion rate.

@hsdecktech I'm missing more than 10 legendary Merc. I found in the welcome bundle Jaina, and after open some packs I found the diamond portrait. Shouldn't I find another Merc instead? It's bugged or am I misunderstanding how works?
