Lots of things to talk about with this one. Some pretty clear indicators going into these changes that combo decks were still going to be quite prevalent post FiAV launch, and Worlds definitely continued that trend.

One main focus for this patch was softening the power mana reduction, and lots of cards being hit are in that space. Octobot, Celestial Alignment, Runed Mithril Rod, all clear targets.

Other specific things we agreed on going into making these changes — Warlock has a bit too much healing that also acts as efficient removal, Paladin overall has been a power outlier even if we like the gameplay of it, and the Snowfall guardian/Macaw interaction can happen a bit

too soon. Our soft goal for Alterac Valley is to bolster slower strategies, and these changes, while not combo-focused ones, should still help in that regard.

Lastly, buffs! An obvious design goal here — we want each class to have an exciting Hero Card to use. Magister Dawngrasp has been underperforming so we wanted to give them a big upgrade. Tavish has been decent, but buffing the hero power is a clear winner for making him exciting

while keeping him in line power-wise. Grey Sage Parrot was an easy candidate for a buff. Wildfire is a small change but we agree that it’s more fun when it works with Magister Dawngrasp/other swapping effects.

More individual comments on each card can be found in the patch notes, hope everyone has fun with the new patch! I’ll be jamming deathrattle hunter and guff druid 😎

Power of* mana reduction. Thank you Twitter for not creating an editing feature.

@GallonHS I would like you to increase my power mana, not reduce it. Power mana sounds sweet and I would like more of it.

@coL_Sottle 🤔 gotta write that down

@GallonHS Have there been any arena class balance adjustments to hopefully narrow the huge WR% spread? I'm assuming not, but would love to be wrong on that.

@dannfullergames Don’t believe microadjustments have been made. We did decide on one change for Arena — banning Abominable Lieutenant. I believe you were one of the people who suggested that to me, so thank you for the feedback there!

@GallonHS @J_Alexander_HS Your team nerfed the only card that is in the only competitive priest deck right now (trogg in miracle priest). Where are the priest buffs? The entire class is tier 4 and yet nothing is done.

@TonberryBleu @J_Alexander_HS Patch has significant power reduction for almost every one of Priest’s weaker matchups. We’ll be closely monitoring the post patch meta like always to see if any other changes are warranted
