I think cancelling all federal student loan interest and fees, but not the principal, would be a nice option that would make a huge difference and seems vaguely attainable. It's nutty to me that there's such high interest and fees on these in the first place.

      We shouldn't be paying these loans for 20 years, pay twice as much as we took out, and then end up owing more than we started with, that's just nonsense.

        @hsdecktech I wonder if the ridiculous terms on student loans actually represent the risks the bank takes on or if there has been shown to be similar or limited increase in risk. I can't imagine the numbers actually match up with charging people so much.

          @IksarHS Especially since there’s almost no bankruptcy risk for these loans (though that’s another change I think they should make).

            @hsdecktech @IksarHS Benefits of studying in Sweden. I suppose I should just pay them off, but that 0.05% interest is amusing. https://t.co/nKKmPNMe1L

              @LinusFlink @IksarHS Once again, I should’ve been a Swede.

      @hsdecktech Would be a step in the right direction (life changing for me) though tuition reform needs to happen or else we’re just kicking another problem down the road. A less severe one without the interest thankfully but need to set up future generations for educational success.

      @hsdecktech Apologies in advance: What are typical student loan rates these days? I would have expected them to be pretty low (e.g. 2-3%) since the Federal Funds Rate has been near 0 for the last decade.

        @Michael40927175 I haven’t looked at mine in a while, I just accepted I’m paying them forever. But from the gov website: https://t.co/JWhblGpXeb
