Alright, I finally did it. I've started a series of articles about game development, and how games actually work. A great many people who don't understand how they work have promised a lot of things. Let's see how they collide with reality, and learn! https://t.co/aoT7gRk4AG

My hope is that people will read these and rather than being disappointed that people have promised them things that can't exist, they'll instead become excited about their new knowledge, and maybe attempt to build something of their own.

There is SO much cool tech in use, but if you're going to promise people that new tech fixes or enables something, you need to know what's currently in-use, and what its limitations are, or you don't know what problem you're solving - just empty promises.

Let's ditch the salt and the hype, and try to get excited about the realities of game development. If you think you have good ideas for how things might work, get involved, get coding, and let's learn about what's already possible right now.

The title of my substack 'load bearing tomato' is a reference to this famous tumblr post. Consider subscribing if you like games and tech, and want to see behind the unholy curtain. https://t.co/jOwGY1i24F Be warned: the first 10 or so posts will be debunking NFT myths. https://t.co/QbTULZNU3u

@chhopsky I have created that tomato. I have also found that tomato, removed that tomato, spent a day debugging, and put back that tomato.
