The thought I could lose my job & income just on the words of another person, terrifies me. For women, being part of a community with an accused abuser, must be even more terrifying. I don’t know. I just wish people on both sides would be more compassionate and less judgemental https://t.co/AEZUOCiDGq

@MeatiHS Nobody wants anybody to wrongly lose their livelihood. Of course that's horrible and wrong. But more women are raped and assaulted and abused than men are falsely accused. It's just not even close. Your fears are valid but ours are a very realistic possibility in daily life.

@Songbird_HS @MeatiHS Yes and there are men who have been falsely accused and spent decades in prison on false charges but we don't talk about that. Statistics can only account for reported situations. There's always another side to the story.

@victort1324 @MeatiHS And that's truly and unimaginably horrible. But I would bet a lot of money that the amount of unreported assaults is substantially higher. Our legal system is deeply flawed.

@Songbird_HS @MeatiHS I'm sorry, the way you presented your rhetoric does come off rather prejudicial. If men in e-sports can lose income over mere allegations, that is unjust. It does not follow any basis of logic or reason. Is that normal? Why is it worthy of merit? Reasoning?

@victort1324 @MeatiHS And I could say you're biased because of your experiences too. I don't want Zalae to lose income if he's not guilty. I hope above all hope that there was an investigation driving this, but I don't know for sure. Does that mean we just assume accusers are lying? This all blows.

@Songbird_HS @MeatiHS So... is this a competition where the loser isn't allowed to express fear of injustice, or where they have to apologize/add a disclaimer everytime they complain about something related to injustice ? Trying to understand where the 2 "But" in your reply come from.

@Kanapesh_HS @MeatiHS Technically what happened here was a woman came forward saying she'd been assaulted, other women said "yeah that happens and we're afraid." And then men said "but we get falsely accused sometimes and we're also afraid." Sick fucking competion. Don't be intentionally obtuse.

@Songbird_HS @MeatiHS Asking questions is not a sign of being obtuse, in fact it's the opposite. Also no one said "BUT we get falsely accused sometimes and we're also afraid" You're the one bringing one as a contradiction to the other and this is very much what I don't understand about your discourse.

@Kanapesh_HS @MeatiHS Let's be honest, you weren't asking a question. I also wasn't invalidating anybody's fears or presenting any type of competition. It is a fact that more women are assaulted than men are falsely accused, and pursuing the narrative that women are likely to lie is dangerous.

@Kanapesh_HS @MeatiHS And no, asking questions isn't obtuse. If you're genuinely wondering whether I think this is a competition where the "loser" is silenced, the answer is no. It isn't a competition, and I don't genuinely think you believe that either.

@Songbird_HS @MeatiHS I'll be honest, I was asking a question, and you wrongly interpreted it as something else, which shows you have fucked up prejudices and it's high time you fixed them. Also you just gave me my answer, and as much as I disagree with the logic behind it, thanks for telling me.
