Let's Make HOTS a Bigger Game and Watch Regionals Today

Seriously. Everyone who plays this game regularly should at least watch a bit of regionals today and tomorrow. If you haven't been interested in the competitive side of this game, give it a try, its actually a lot more interesting than you think if you get into it.

I can't be the only one who wants to see this game excel. So tell your friends, make posts on social media, watch... anything ! Let's make this game big !

Thank you for the post, didn't know this.

But the problem is: why do we need threads like this?

I want Blizzard itself to inform people about tournaments. They can do it ingame or in battle.net or on the official site.

Tbh this is why HOTS on twitch is unpopular as shit.

But I want to see it next to hearthstone eventually!

any idea why thy use earplugs + noise cancelling headphones on top of that?

Headset is noise cancelling + white noise for redundancy, earbuds are the audio for comms and game sound.

I assume it doesn't matter which one we use for the portrait? Or maybe I'll play it safe and use both :p

    Both should work!

Its BlizzHeroes. And it starts 10AM.

It's both. We'll be hosting ESL_Heroes from BlizzHeroes. Either one works!

    No, thank you.

I critique because I want HOTS to be better. (Thanks for the downvotes though!) In that vein...

We don't owe HOTS anything. The game shouldn't be watched because it will lead to a larger playerbase. The game should be watched only if it provides entertainment on par with whatever else someone could be doing with their weekend.

If you inflate the HOTS viewership you're sending Blizzard a message: "This is good enough." That's the wrong message to send right now. Blizzard needs to hear the opposite: "This is bush league."

S&P 500 companies don't need you to lobby for them. They should be competing with other forms of entertainment. It is Blizzard's job to make HOTS a bigger game by providing a more compelling product. (This shouldn't be too hard, Blizzard owns MLG, and they're planning an esports cable channel.)

I watch MFPallytime videos because they're entertaining and I think they make me a better player. I don't watch competitive HOTS because the last time I did it had the production value of a community college television talk show. If Blizzard builds it, views will come. Viewership in lieu of quality, however, tells Blizzard that we're suckers who don't need improvements.

Hah trust me, we hear loud and clear if people like the production, the casters, the rules, etc, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Our communities are vocal which shows they care, we do to!

Regardless of viewership we're always looking for ways to improve. Maybe some of the events aren't up to your standards yet, we'll keep working though!
