Blizzcon chat moderation settings are way over the top

So, "Free kill on the support" has 3 banned words in it.

Kill is a banned word for a long time now (which is strange enough, but okay).

Now, for the following words (and probably more) you also get the "Your message wasn't posted due to conflicts with the channel's moderation settings."

  • free
  • split
  • support
  • apparently any word starting with "s" and ending with "t"
  • BibleThump
  • bot
  • sellout (I can understand that one, but $ellout works just fine)

So, can someone please look at these moderation settings and make them actually reasonable?

Well, I'm definitely not looking forward to participating in the HGC chat, that's for damn sure.

This issue has been brought up several times, most or all of those times with no response from Blizzard whatsoever.

The HGC chat is so disgustingly moderated it's become more cancerous than it previously was, with no moderation.

/u/eSportsMatt - mind chipping in onto a topic that actually matters? You've already said before that you will look into this, but the words OP has listed in his opening statements are proof that the whole Twitch Chat moderation thing has only REGRESSED since.

I know you've all been triggered by the Terrence Miller Hearthstone chat racism situation, but this is over the-fucking-top right now. Where we are now, and especially with HotS, is you having taken things WAAAAY too far. HotS chat has never even faced racist comments on the similar level as PlayHearthstone has. He quit Hearthstone, but you've decided to continue to make the situation worse, only serving as a helping hand to perpetuate those issues further.

You're trying to pump us up with those videos you've been releasing recently, promoting HGC, but when an amazing play is made, you actually get extatic because of it and can't even type a stupid "HELL YEAHAAAAAAAAAA!! GO [insert team name]!!!", it's like a slap in the face, and for no fucking reason at that.

Hell is not a censor-worthy word on the internet, realize that and change your silly moderation settings already. The fact that even words like 'free', 'support' and 'specialist' are banned are, if it wasn't painfully fking apparent by now, a clear display of how wrong your HotS esports team is approaching the whole Twitch Chat moderation situation. Saying 'free' is just a regular team vs team banter, where one side says NA free LUL and the other says EU free LUL, and most of us enjoy it, because we know it's nothing hateful and is just means to fuel the 'conversation', or 'chat cheering', if you will.

Oh, and on a side note I'd like to remind you that the "TriHard" emote does not equal racism in any fucking way. It's just a happy black guy, period. I'll even link you an interview with the man himself.

You've already become like the parent nobody fucking likes, Blizzard, whose children then later grow up to hate, becuase you've been so overprotective to the point of restricting their freedom, and we're only talking 'silly' freedom of speech in a damned Twitch Chat here.

Hey, it looks like there was a degree of automation involved that overstepped the bounds that we wanted which is why it was tough to figure out what the cause was. Seems like it's been getting better now but let us know if you still see outliers.
