Heroes of the Storm is currently broken for new players, no Blizzard response. Hoping to get more attention here?

Hi guys - new to Heroes of the Storm (like lots of people, brought over by the Nexus Challenge) and have been really enjoying it over the past few days. However, the game is suffering from a serious bug that is terrible for new players and there has been no Blizz response that I can see despite dozens of threads and hundreds of posts reporting this in the bug forums.

If you just start HOTS your starting quest is the "complete three games against AI quest". This quest never updates and you never get any new quests. Without the ability to complete any quests at all it's incredibly hard to get gold or unlock new heroes. I bought one of the bundles, realized that I like Zagara (not part of the bundle) and now either need to pay money to unlock her or grind another 80 games with no quests (!!!) to get enough gold to unlock.

Worse, this bug (or a variant on it) has apparently existed for months. How could this not be fixed by now?

Let's look at some of the reactions on the forums in the past day (many from the past hour) from new users like me:

I can only speak for myself, but I really have no interest in investing time or money in a game that can't even acknowledge an issue or at the very least, communicate with the customer.

Im a new player and have no gold due to the fact I have no daily quests.

Just posting here to say that I am having the same issue and it is really turning me off of playing.

Who the hell makes a big event in order to bring more people to the game and then completely !@#$s up the quest system? You will definitely keep those new players by doing that.

Can we get some attention on this? I'm certainly uninterested in putting money or time into a game that locks me out of basic functionality for no reason.

As a new player, my first impression of HoTS is that it's a cool game that Blizzard isn't willing to devote the resources to so it could actually compete with LoL and Dota in the Moba scene. Blizzard, please fix (or at least acknowledge!) problems that are affecting new players.

Edit - to give you an idea of how widespread and annoying this is, I just checked the forums and there are 4 new people reporting this in the past 5 minutes. It's nuts.

    Hey all,

    So, there are a couple of issues happening at once here:

    1. New players are not receiving quests in addition to the “Complete VS. AI Matches” quest.
    2. The VS. AI quest is not properly tracking progress after completing matches.

    For the first issue, we are currently working on a fix and will be implementing it to the live servers as soon as it is complete and tested. As for issue number two, we are still investigating what could be causing this quest to fail to track and will keep you all updated as we have more information. We also have a forum thread here requesting more information from players currently encountering this issue.
