New heroes/reworks in HGC

Hey guys,

Does anyone know if there's a regulation in regards new heroes or heroes reworked being available in HGC matches? As excited as I am to see newer additions in the roster be used by pros I do hope that the 2 week global ban is still a thing.

    follow up question.

how do they scrim if they're playing on a patch that is no longer available?

The plan is to have the patch that the pros play on be accessible at all times.

Could you specify? Does that mean patches will hit 3 weeks delayed? Or that HGC will always be played on the "balance patch between big patches"-version to avoid broken releases/reworks?

Ideally we play HGC matches on the "balance patch between big patches" as you call it but sometimes dates don't line up that cleanly.

Does this hold for open division?

No, Open Division is currently planned to always be played on the most current patch.

I should've known better than rushing in to answer, thanks for the confirmation :)

It's all good! What you answered was in fact our old policy.

    Hi /u/yonabby,

We're targeting staying on the same patch for the HGC for about 3 weeks at a time to avoid this entirely. The pros will be able to play on the live patches to see reworks and new Heroes for a while before they get looped into HGC play.
