Can anyone explain the difference between the Qualifiers where registration is due Nov 17th and the HGC Open League in January? It didn't seem clear, both seem open to anyone

These qualifiers are for the Professional side of the HGC. These serve to determine the 6 remaining teams that will be playing in each region.

The Open Division will have more information released soon but basically it's a multiple cup system that allows teams a bit more flexibility while being able to compete at a high level. Open Division will be the place to play if you want to make it into the HGC but don't get there through these qualifiers.

Normal time would be 2 weeks, why is it allowed earlier?

Sorry, I forgot that we have a qualifier on the 26th and jumped straight to the December ones!

I sent you a message on Twitter, something has gone horribly wrong with my Skype request.

Haha ok! We'll work it out :)

I assume that there will be a lot of matches played simultaneously in each bracket, why can't we have more streams? There are so many casters in both regions (especially in NA) but we have just one stream and it's a solo cast in EU. With no spectator feature in the game viewers won't be able to follow their favourite team unless the casters chooses to follow it.

Casters can feel free to cast games that we aren't assigning to SolidJake & JHow or Khaldor. Just work with us to get that going so that we can vet all of you!

Varian is banned i presume for these?

For the first qualifiers in Europe and North America. He'll be in the rest!

Edit from below: Not in until November 29th.

I can't wait to see all the crazy highs and lows of all these indie, new, well known, and lesser talked about teams fighting for spots in both the HGC League and the Amateur league.

Like Heroes of the Dorm (only probably to a greater degree), we could see all kinds of crazy upsets, dominant runs, huge mistakes, and wonky and wild play. It won't be as stable or honed as top level play, but will definitely be more well coordinated than Hero League.

What I am most excited to see all the new talent. I want to see where the talent pool of Europe and NA is at now, see the state of the pro rookies, and to watch that talent pool grow. Watching competitors grow from being among the averages to among the greats is probably my favorite thing to watch in all kinds of professional competitions.

Hopefully we have a few players here who become that in Heroes esports!

There's a LOT of new talent in these rosters. I'm excited to see how they shake up the veterans this time!
