You're right, calling it Bo5 doesn't make sense in this case. It's still used in the announcement, might want to change that even though it's clear what is meant ("Prize Pool: $5,000 per event. Each game in the best-of-five earns the winning team $1,000.").

Bah! I thought I caught all of them but there was one Bo5 hiding right under my nose! Thanks :)

Interesting prize pool. 1000EUR/Dollars per match won, not just 5000 to Bo5 winner and 0 to loser. Sounds like the stakes will be high each individual game!

Popping in here as well to clarify before anyone gets mixed up (I still catch myself saying it around the office to!) these aren't Bo5's, they're 5 game matches. We will be playing all 5 games in a match not just a race to 3 wins!

Man, it took me a second to realize each showmatch was just that; a single BO5. I thought this was going to be NA vs EU, not NA vs NA and then later EU vs EU. Would've been a lot more exciting if it were the former. :(

Bit of clarification, we're hosting 5 game matches, not best of 5's. :)

Meaning teams will play out all 5 games and not just race to 3 wins!

    How about Zarya?

For the EU showmatch on Warhead Junction, yes.

Question: Alarak will be playable in the show match tournaments right?

    Yes.

I just want to ask whether it really helps to take a break of one week and not do steps backwards in terms of skill and damage to your concentration and desire to play the game constantly again. What has happened in the past?

It depends on the players. Sometimes (even when you're at the top) you need to take a preemptive break so you don't burn out when it matters most. I respect MG's awareness to set time aside for themselves, BlizzCon is no laughing matter!

A few of us have family obligations and travel coming up during all these recently announced events. While we'd love to play, the team is taking some time off to spend with family & friends, crash some weddings, and just generally remind the people in our lives that we still exist before we fall off the map for another couple months training for blizzcon.

The break period was set prior to Pax, regardless of our results, so travel plans were made and paid before we were aware of the upcoming events this month. Glad to see that these events are still rolling in even though we won't be able to make the initial ones, should be a good grudge match.

Enjoy your break! Looking forward to seeing you all back in action, fresh and rested!
