Riot turned the rewards down from 'good' to 'bad'. They will turn them up to 'mediocre' sometime from now on. The 'mediocre' was their goal all along. Don't fall for the folksy 'they listened to us, we did it Reddit' PR play.

Some of You: /u/blueadmir you are just frustrated and looking for a scapegoat

Me: Yes, yes I am frustrated. I am a consumer and the decisions that end up hurting the consumer directly affect me in an adverse way.

I invite every reader to make arguments with their words besides just clicking an orange or blue arrow if what I say does or does not align with what you believe.

did the math, and were like "yeah, we think this is fair, you're unlikely to get the worst case multiple times in a row

Have you guys not seen Diablo 3 or WoW loot shenanigans? "Unlikely" means "We know exactly what percentage of our playerbase is going to get screwed by this, and we're fine with that."

I think "unlikely" usually means "oh we know this will only happen .05% of the time" or something like that. The problem being that when you're doing math, .05% sounds pretty small - but with so many players it's guaranteed to happen to someone - and it feels pretty fucking bad if you happen to be that someone.
