We're doing updates to back end services today. We did have to temporarily shutdown matchmaking giving the patches we're rolling out which we know is inconvenient. We won't always have to do that but today we did. On the flip side, we swapped out the entire back end without forcing people out of game or locking login. But yes, for 10-15 minutes we had to stop matchmaking (and thus new games from starting.

We'll continue to get better at how much impact we incur when doing patches/updates. We spent a lot of time trying to make sure we have minimal impact deploys and designed as many things as possible to stay running while doing major version changes.
