rLOR End Of Year Event - Rioter AMA, Custom Cards, Memes, and more!

Looking for the reveal megathread ?

Hello hello! EmpressTeemo here announcing rLOR Wrapped 2020!

You might still remember the AMA we hosted last August for the new expansion release -

This time the rLOR community event team is hosting a two day End Of Year community event on the weekend of the 19th/20th December!

rLOR Wrapped is going to be a yearly repeating format, where we organize a weekend filled with events from and for the community! We will talk about our own past year, Legends of Runeterra, and any relevant topics, from custom cards to competitive play! We are aware that this date is in fact not the actual end of year, but we wanted to ensure that we don't collide with any holidays, both for the convenience of the community, and our guests!

The event will hold place on our own Twitch channel and our Discord server!

Below you can find our provisional schedule - note that all times and guests are subject to change. Questionmarks indicate that a certain guest isn't locked in yet - we're working our hardest to make it happen! You will be able to find the most recently updated schedules on our Discord server!

Saturday, 19th December

12:00 PST/15:00 EST/20:00 UTC

r/LoRCompetitive stream - hosted by Boronian

Guests: ImpetuousPanda, 4LW, Hsuku, Secret Rioter(?)

Our wonderful LoRCompetitive mod and part-time streamer Boronian has the honor of kicking of this event weekend! He and our lineup of guests will be talking about their 2020, specifically their experiences with LoR and it's competitive side, things that shaped their year, and similar topics! If you're a fan of competitive play and levelheaded discussions, this is the event you don't want to miss!

14:00 PST/17:00 EST/22:00 UTC

r/CustomLoR stream - hosted by TheSkilledRoy

Guests: Lazy

Next up is our custom card subreddit! Roy, who you might know as a custom card expert, or from his many lore videos, will talk about a few fan favourite custom cards that were made this year, together with Lazy, another custom card enthusiast! Expect deep insight into card design, flavour, and generally a great time!

16:00 PST/19:00 EST/0:00 UTC

r/LoRCirclejerk stream - hosted by VG12

Guests: SmoothSoloist, Riot Salvor

To top things off for Day 1 of our two day event, we have our one and only VG12 hosting the r/LoRCirclejerk session! We'll be going over the best LoR related memes of this year, together with fan favourite LoRCJ moderator Smooth Soloist, aswell as our beloved Rioter, Riot Salvor! While maybe not as technical and education as the previous segments, this will definitely be full of fun and a great time for everyone!

Sunday, 20th December

8:00 PST/11:00 EST/16:00 UTC

Sign-ups rLOR Season 5 Tournament 1 - hosted by Waynesens

One hour later: Tournament start

We're kicking things off on Day 2 with the rLOR Tournament Series, Season 5! The format will be the following:

Three decks - 1 ban - No overlapping regions - Four rounds of Swiss with a top 8 cut

As always, players will be competing for Season Points, for which the top players with the most points by the end of season get rewarded with ingame cosmetics, aswell as other goodies depending on what the Season brings! Three random participants of the entire season will also receive a randomly given out prize of one emote of their choice! We highly recommend partaking if you've always wanted to play in a more structured setting - a few of our previous regulars ascended into higher spheres and have competed in multiple Fight Nights, so it's definitely worth honing your skills here! To find out more about the rLOR Tournament Series, check out our website!

12:00 PST/15:00 EST/20:00 UTC

Fireside Chat with Rioters on stream - hosted by TheSkilledRoy

Guests: Riot TinyBun, Riot Dovagedys, Riot AlphaLvSim

Gather round the imaginary Yule Log fire and join us as a few Rioters chat about their year and their experiences developing LoR! We're gonna chat with Riot TinyBun (former Set Producer), Riot Dovagedys (Senior Producer) and Riot AlphaLvSim (Game Designer) and get some insight on their daily work and how they've experiences 2020, especially with working from home! Possibly the highlight of this weekend and a great chance of meeting some of the LoR developers on a more personal level - my personal recommendation if you can only make it to one segment!

Around 13:15 PST/15:15 EST/20:15 UTC

Quarterfinals - Finals streamed with casting - hosted by CuriousThing / Rioter AMA on Discord - hosted by EmpressTeemo

As the Yule Log slowly burns out and the Rioters return back to their homes, we will start streaming the Quarterfinals of the rLOR Tournament, with our own in house casting! While maybe not the highest level of gameplay, we are still guaranteed to see high level gameplay, with brand new decks as the new expansion will be just released! And to top things off, a Rioter AMA will be running alongside on the subreddit community Discord! Be it follow up questions for the Rioters that just went off-stream, or brand new Rioters you want to bombard with any LoR or non-LoR related questions - this is your chance to get them out and answered! Please note that this segment is at Rioter's discretion and no fixed time schedule exists, so we cannot promise that all questions get answered. This segment will end whenever the Rioters decide to, they deserve some peace and quiet after this long year! The tournament stream will continue until the Finals are played out, and ultimatively end with an interview of the winner! This will conclude our End Of Year Event! You're still free to chatter in the Discord afterwards, and hang around tho'!

Again, please note that all times and guests are subject to change! We're working our hardest to provide you a fullfilling experience, but not everything is guaranteed to work perfectly - this is our first major event after all! If you have ideas, or would like to help out for future events, don't be afraid to comment below or reaching out to me directly! More help is always appreciated - this is a community effort after all c:

We're looking forward to spending a quality weekend with you all - see you soon!
