The game is borderline unplayable for a new player

I've been trying to get into this game for a few days. But I'm about to give up since I can't win even 1 game. Can't win a single game in days, that's right. Both "Play" and "Bronze Ranked" are filled with what seems as perfectly constructed meta decks full of legendary cards, while new players get rubbish starter decks, which resemble a random pile of common cards. And you can't make your own deck, since 1) You're a new player and the game is overwhelming 2) You barely have any cards. To get more cards you need to win games. To win games you need a proper deck. Vicious circle, obviously aimed to slide a hand into your wallet right from the start.

Also, the game has clunky and unresponsive interface with lots of pointless clicks.

It's funny, in closed beta I could play with an unedited starter deck and almost always played against another starter deck. But since open beta I keep seeing posts like this.

I saw people say the same thing in closed beta too. The matchmaking forum post is currently how things work. We love getting feedback though!

If you want to see how we do matchmaking, check out this forum post. The "Play" queue takes into account your MMR and matches you with folks that are similar. Then it takes into consideration the deck you are playing.

I'd suggest checking out some MTG Arena streamers if you're having trouble. Most of them answer questions and explain what they're doing/why they're doing it. And if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us on Twitter! If you have any specific card questions, Gatherer can usually answer those questions.
