OCE servers still getting put to other servers often

Please fix. We get put on American servers with like 200 ping way too often still. And why does every games show the "warning: long wait for fair match"? Wtf is going on?

the OCE server is working fine

blizz have not provided enough server space in OCE so we are being diverted as overflow to LAX1 with the resultant 170-200 ping.

its a cost cutting move which we feel the effects of when there is an event and more people cause overflow.

blizz likes money, who knew .

AUS / NZ, please don't buy loot boxes from these money hungry bastards

Hey there. We have been investigating reports of connectivity problems in OCE. This is not a server capacity issue however. One current theory is problems are stemming from damaged undersea network infrastructure.

To be extra clear we have never had a region where we did not have enough capacity to handle the amount of players for that region for any long period of time (right around patching things can be bumpy we know).

We’ll be sure to post updates when we have detailed information, it’s always a bit more complicated when issues are outside of our infrastructure.

    Cheers

South America is the same, it's lovely to play with 200 ping and lose SR. But hey Blizzard doesn't care, it's been this way for a year already.

We’re currently testing changes to our regional infrastructure for South America. Quality of gameplay means a great deal to me as the lead live ops engineer and of course the rest of the team too.

Thanks for your patience, we know it can be frustrating that these types of improvements take a long time.

    please explain bill.

I'm live in MELBOURNE and the server is in SYDNEY

how is the undersea cable off the coast of HK possibly interrupting connection from Melb to Syd., AND SENDING US TO LAX1.

Secondly, the problem miraculously fixed itself on Friday and Saturday. AMEIZING. i have not played one game on LAX1 friday and Saturday.

For your information the undersea link from my house to LAX1 runs at 160ms Ping. there is no change in this, its not damaged , not that this has anything to do with my connection to LAX1. It also has to do with my connection to SYD

the broken cable is off the COAST OF HK i have included a MAP of the world and the undersea cable links for you.

ALSO EVERY PATCH WE GET WE GET SENT TO US SERVERS.

THIS IS NOT CONSISTENT WITH A BROKEN UNDERSEA INTERNET CABLE, .......of the coast of HK

Hi zepistol, the reason is those links are used for the instance (or "game") servers that are located in AU to communicate back to the core servers for whatever region you're in. If that connection is interrupted we're unable to do a lot of things including saving your data, when that's the case, you would instead be routed to NA servers.

    Cheers.

dear bill, your internet cable which fixed itself before the scheduled repair date is now broken again.

its not a broken cable dude, they don't turn off and on again, always on fridays by the way

Hey zeipstol, I didn't mean to offend you with the details of the general network issues we've seen in OCE recently. I can understand your frustration if you're regularly hitting high ping on the weekends. We can help more by looking at your specific network quality data and going from there. I am certain we are not out of capacity in our OCE datacenter.

Please post your battle tag in this thread or make a post on our tech support forums and we can look in more detail.
