Why do I keep getting west coast servers when I live ≈200 miles east of the east coast servers?

Seriously, I get 7-12ms ping when I actually pull east coast servers, and 50-60 when I get west coast. Why are 9 out of 10 of my games on west coast? This only seems to happen once or twice a week with no obvious pattern, but nights like tonight it just keeps happening and it's beyond frustrating.

Ping is only one factor for matchmaking. 50-60 ms is a good ping. If the match quality would be better with the higher ping you would get that match.

Ah ok, that makes sense. Just threw me off cause this seems to be a somewhat rare occurrence (one or two nights a week) and happens even in practice range.

If you queue up right after logging in we sometimes put you in a weird data center. This is most common with practice range.

    Cheers!
