UPDATE: My husband lost 50K gold
Hey guys!! Promised an update, and it turns out that the issue was not that my husband lost the gold, it was that he didn't lose the gold!
As I mentioned, he was purchasing as much as he could before he got booted, and apparently the currency wasn't updating. So he definitely spent the gold, and when he logged out, it was still showing that he had all that currency remaining. However, when he logged back in a few days later, the correct currency was updated. =)
Blizz was super amazing about getting back to us, and they even took the time to do the math and show us exactly where it all went. They were professional and helpful as always, and I'm super pleased with the outcome. Also, special shoutout to /u/BillWarnecke (I hope I'm doing that right?), because he was a ROCK STAR about getting this issue resolved.
So there you have it!! Crisis averted!! My husband feels a little silly for not realizing that he spent more than he thought he did, but otherwise, all is well! =)
