So increasingly I've noticed a sentiment that people just aren't having as much fun with Runeterra

After the slow ascension of Targon as the best control region.

I wanted to hopefully put together a list of features along with everyone else

That pinpoints what these issues are.

Keep in mind I love Targon personally but this is for the good of the player base

Silences - Stop the go big strategy

Playing a card like Braum as a win con prior to Targon was never meta defining but it was possible

Now I wouldn't ever recommend stacking more than one take heart on him, and you probably don't main deck it

card advantage - stops the removal strategy

Shadow Isles control or corina control used to be a valid way to play the game

But now that every card in Targon tutors for a bigger threat you will never out remove a skilled opponent.

Ledros is a pretty big casualty here

combo - stops the slow speed strategy

While Zoe Lee Sin isn't actually a top tier deck, in fact it's kinda bad

It does punish certain card speed so hard to delete them entirely

cards like trueshot barrage were never great but they were playable in certain scenarios

Image spending 7 mana against a Lee sin with 6 counters and burst speed interaction

Healing stops the burn strategy

Burn aggro used to be the highest played deck in Runterra 

Even greater than Kinkou elusives by a long shot

The fact that a 0 champion aggro list doesn't exist anymore 

Is really punishing for new players that only want to play a few games a week

Here are just some possible reasons players are enjoying the game less

So we have a new keyword to examine that is going to be very hard to evaluate properly.

How exactly do countdown and prediction interact with one another.

If I had to guess predict is likely very similar to scry from mtg you get to peak your top card and see if it goes on top or the bottom

So the objective is to buff random allies then dig for them

As for the countdown landmarks I think they are solid you get the effect on your next attack turn effectively, and every next attack turn after.

So cycling on turn 2, draw on 4, draw on 6, draw on 8

That's really strong and I think main deck landmark removal may be essential now and that's great

They said on twitter that countdown cards destroy themselves so you only get the 1 2/2 or the 1 draw. That's not great

so predict is look at top 3 put 1 on top

If this was mtg this would be a hugely powerful play effect in standard.

However in Runeterra digging for answers isn't common because board clears are over costed and situational.

Ign published an interview with some informations about the new gamemode that OOC hasn't covered yet. So I thought I'd give you a short summary of all the new information:

-Mercenaries has its own 15 person dev team that is actively working on the mode for over 11 months. The dev team also includes Paul Nygen who pitched the idea of the Dungeon Run mode.

-Mercenaries was originially planned as an 2v2 mode, but they then settled on the rogue-lite (I know the devs are calling it a rogue-like, but a rogue-like with permanent progression is per definition a rogue-lite) and rpg mechanics

- they refear to the runs as "levels" (they also did that other times they talked about it)

- equipment can come from "drops in levels" or from other sources

- the max level could be level 30 ("level 1 to, say, 30")

- the endgame is about enhancing your characters and equipment

- There will be an heroic option

- some abilities will be better against certain bosses

- a lot of endgame gameplay will be about figuering out how to counter a certain boss

- Jaina and the Lich King will be bosses

- You can see what the enemy will do in the pve parts. That's not the case for pvp

- As a result the pve part will be more about puzzles, and the pvp about bluffing and playing mind games (probably not the card Mindgames )

- they announced the mode at Blizzconline to show everyone that Hearthstone is doing more than just releasing expansions.

Bonus from an GamesPredetor Interview I stumbled across:

-The mode will have no mana system and the abilites are cooldown based instead

- example abilities could be a simple attack or a Dragon breath that either deals damage, or heals an ally.

- they think that the mode will be really deep

- fights will reward you with xp and "resources"

All of this sounds super exciting and I can't wait to learn out more.

When cards will be announced?

Anybody else a little disturbed by this card? What a real kick when life is already down, guess you can remember this card as being how depressive these last bunch of months have been.

If I designed this card, it would be randomly what it does now or summoned a 2/3 or restored 5 health to your hero in condition the wife is alive.

I am sure this card has been made before but this is my take on it (Rarity, mana cost, class type)

Based on the Yu Gi Oh card RAIGEKI which can only be a 1 of in decks so I made this card legendary so it would only be a 1 of in Hearthstone and there are no classes in Yu Gi Oh so I made it neutral and Warlock already had DOOM! and Twisting Nether anyways and it would be cool as a neutral.

This trailer is a lot less impressive but look at what Jarvan actually does.

He is literally the highest tempo creature card in the game

This is going to result in the scariest open attacks you've ever seen and the value too

Frost bites are the only solid counter when opponent is attacking on evens
