I saw a post with a similar topic for another card game, and I think it would be fun to do a similar thing for Hearthstone on the forum. I will start, let’s put a card you underestimated and one you overestimated from expansion reveals as compared to how it actually played out in the meta. If you only have a card in one of these categories just post that one.
I thought it was going to be way too slow to see play and that you would often lose to aggro before having a chance to play it but it actually saw play in a lot of control shamans and was considered a powerful card.
I thought it was going to be a powerful late game card in deathrattle decks, copying 3 deathrattles and having a large impact. But it turned out to barely see play in the meta, it is only used in fun and meme level decks but not in any meta decks.
Which cards did you underestimate and overestimate and what was your reasoning at the time?

I made this deck, i think i found it somewhere before and recreated it. Anyway, i need to reliably have Karma on or before turn 9 so winters breath can clear the board, but i don't know what to remove for the card that can help with that. Yes i have feel the rush, but if i don't have it by turn 9, i'm basicly screwed. Cause the deck goes "stall till turn 10. then OTK" help with trimming the fat please

Edit: sorry, when i tried to post the deck in the runeterra deck thing it said "invalid deck id"

So I'm just gonna list a number of cards I was wrong about and I want everyone to leave a comment with their own.
Legends of Runterra is a sufficiently complicated game to get your calls right 100 percent of the time

I thought this card was total trash boy was I wrong.
8 spell mana isn't that hard to hit in a ramp list.
If you run at least ten - 8 plus cards it will cycle or draw 2 usually.
and it let's you hit enlightened at burst speed so in the right deck it's practically a combat trick

We'll broaden this out to veteran investigator as well
Logic would dictate that playing a card to draw your opponent cards puts you behind on advantage
But it turns out in specific lists this can be used as an advantage
Shrooms is the popular meme way right now, but I think that it also has real potential in deep.
After all, once you hit deep and have nautiuls you can just empty your hand and your opponent can't

This one's cheating because he got a sneaky buff in the last patch
But this is a legit card now.
Pure value on cards like zed, or elusives, or anything that spawns 2 bodies
So let me know what cards you got wrong down in the comments.
I understand that Core cards will be given for free according to the Levels. I am just level 46 as DH; what do you think? Do I risk to miss some important cards ? Tks

A lot of the time when streamers talk about tier lists they do so in a vacuum based on pure win rates
This can actually be highly deceptive because meta's actually refer to what people are playing not what is winning the most.
So here are the most popular lists in the game
1. TF, Aphelios - here we see the free boxer list and it's variants at top popularity at 9.5 percent play rate.
2. Viktor, Aphelios - people are playing for fun factor at 8.8 percent play rate but the winrate is below 50
3. Aphelios, Yassao - 8.3 percent play rate and an awful winrate but very fun
4. Discard aggro - 8 percent play rate and one of the best decks right now
5. Anivia control - 7.8 percent play rate and average win rate
6. TF Fizz - 6.8 percent play rate and a slightly above average win rate thought to be top tier but unproven so far
7. Fiora Shen - 5.8 percent play rate and the most reliable midrange deck in the game
8. Zoe Aphelios - A total mess of a list 5.6 percent and a terrible win rate
9. midrange Ash - 4.9 percent play rate still a solid deck but not exceptional
10. Temo Ez - a fun shroom list that has a 4.5 percent play rate and barely breaks even on wins
So what do we notice here, the most played lists are 1/2 meme's 1/2 meta that's a very good thing for the health of a game.
We also notice that a lot of the best decks in the game don't even break top 10 played.
Things like go hard, pirate aggro, these top meta decks aren't really being played enough to care about or tech against.
Let me know what you guys think, have we been examining the meta the wrong way?

Hello
Some of you might remember me (good), some might not (probably better). About half a year ago I decided to quit the game for good for various reasons (the main one being the unchanging frustration about the meta always being worse than expected. Fuck Demon Hunter, all my homies hate Demon Hunter) and while it was one of the best decisions I had made in a long time, reading about the upcoming Core Set really caught my interest again. Basically I'm too curious to see how that will turn out to not make the smarter decision of just ignoring it.
However, since I quit before thee Tavern Pass was introduced I have literally no idea how the HS f2p economy is nowadays. I know that the Pass was pretty dogshit when it first came out and it resulted in a number of changes. Did these changes actually fix the problems? Or more specifically: Are you still able to accquire the same amount of gold (roughly) in between expansions for the same amount of playtime.
I remember my personal highscore being over 10k gold saved up. Is that possible in the current system without spending absurd amounts of time? Is there an overall gold average that casual players can report?
I really don#t care about catching up with the current expansion since I have at least 2k gold still lying around and more dust than I need, but I really want to know how long it would take to, say, farm 5k gold?
Thanks in advance

Hi everyone, I just wanted to make a sneak peak of the project me and my team have been working on called The Halls of Brawl. Bizmo Brawlpub and Boss Bazzelflange wanna settle the score and figure out which Brawler's Guild—the Horde's or the Alliance's— has the better fighter, and their solution was to launch a tournament of epic proportions and see, once and for all, which faction fights the hardest.
I will let everyone name one card (none of the italicized names), and at 8:00pm EST I will return with a straw poll with all the cards that were named, at which point you guys can vote on the card you want to see. See you guys then!

As an f2p player who joined HS during Kobolds and Catacombs, I am really looking forward to being able to experience what HS was like at the beginning. What cards and decks are you guys and gals going to be playing when it releases?
I'm probably going to be messing around with some cards which get their nerfs reverted like Warsong Commander.

Welcome to The Blacklist!
I thought about this thread for a long long time, and given you can ignore friend requests, and you can report users in the launcher for harassment, but there are a lot of salty people out there, that can send you a request after a relatively normal game and then start to harass you endlessly until you kick them out or they just go away after driving you a little insane and they just get bored out.
So, this would be the place where you could preemptively get an idea of WHO are you adding.
The idea is to give a name and the reason you're pointing it out, maybe a screenshot if you managed to take one.
I'll update this post to add names, and call out why they show up here.

Given that it's likely that Riot updates Lab of Legends with new Bosses every once in a while, I wanted to create a few Boss ideas (including the two fights that lead up to it) that I think would be interesting to play against. I'm not sure on the balance, but after some playtesting I think Riot could make the decks and passives feel fair to play against. The way I think my Bosses could be incorporated is that they would become a part of a rotating pool of Bosses, and at the beginning of each run you see which Bosses you'll face (so you can build your deck to beat them). I made decks for each enemy of 40 cards, but if the Boss is the 1st or 2nd encounter, the deck would be trimmed a bit to make it around the size of your deck.
Boss Idea 1: Gangplank (Power Level: 1st or 2nd Boss)
First Deck: Coral Creatures
Passive: When you cast a spell, draw 1.
This deck is meant to be fairly weak, just using the Attune cards and low-cost spells with a passive that makes it hard for them to run out of resources.
Second Deck: Monkeys
Passive: Round Start: Deal 1 to the enemy Nexus.
This deck has guaranteed plunder every round, which allows the monkey dream to come true! I essentially just put in every Plunder card and every Monkey card. This should make this deck quite powerful, which is part of why Gangplank could be a second level Boss.
Gangplank:
Passive: Summon a Powder Keg
This is an all-in Keg deck that can accumulate kegs to deal lots of damage, with a few Noxus burn cards to make the kegs more likely to actually matter. I'm unsure of how powerful this deck is, but if it turns out to be too good, it can easily be nerfed by removing the Noxus cards (Noxian Fervor and Death's hand).
Boss Idea 2: Shyvana (Power Level: 1st or 2nd Boss)
First Deck: The Vanguard
Passive: Round Start: Rally.
This deck is meant to be a Midrange Demacia deck with the "Domination" Passive, which makes it powerful but hopefully not OP.
Second Deck: The Dragonguard
Passive: Allies have Fury. You always Behold a Dragon.
This deck is built around using Fury with the Grand Plaza and other challengers. I think this deck is a bit weak, so if this were a second tier Boss, I would buff the passive to also give allies +0|+1, which would make them better at triggering Fury.
Shyvana:
Passive: Your Dragons cost 1 less
This deck uses the Demacia and Targon Dragon cards with a passive that makes them able to get out early enough to actually be impactful. This passive is very good for a Tier 1 champion, so if it had to be nerfed, I would change it to "Dragon allies have +1|+0."
Boss Idea 3: Karma (Power Level: 2nd or 3rd Boss)
First Deck: Disciples of Hirana
Passive: Start with the Monastery of Hirana. When you recall a unit, double its Power and it keeps any buffs it had.
This deck is based around using Monastery of Hirana, recall cards, and handbuff cards to generate huge elusive units that can deal lots of Nexus. Because buffs are kept when recalling, the stats of a unit can snowball hard, such as going from a 2/1 to a 4/1 to an 8/1 to a 16/1. However, the only spell the deck has to save its units at fast speed is Homecoming, so it should be somewhat easy to prevent big units by killing the unit. Also, the passive doesn't buff Health, so the deck is vulnerable to Challenger or removal spells.
Second Deck: The Order of Shadow
Passive: When you play a unit, summon an exact Ephemeral copy of it.
This deck utilizes the powerful Ionian "when I'm summoned" units alongside Sparring Student and Greenglade Duo to buff up the board and get lots of elusive damage.
Karma:
Passive: All players start at 10 Mana.
This deck is comprised of all the expensive Ionia and Freljord units as well as the "Enlightened" cards. By starting each player at 10 Mana, Karma starts leveled and can cast powerful spells or play units like She Who Wanders to try to overwhelm the opponent. This passive might be kind of weak due to the number of player passives and items that draw cards, but I think that with an early She Who Wanders or a Turn 2 Warmother's call, it might be possible for Karma to win. Alternatively, it could end up being insanely powerful, in which can Karma can easily be nerfed by lowering the curve and cutting out some of the more powerful late-game cards.
So what do y'all think of my ideas? Would these be fun bosses to play against? Do you have any cool ideas for other Bosses and Passives?

You'll know that staying on top of the ever evolving card pool is basically impossible without spending money and opening packs.
If you have a life that is and don't want to grind
Legends however, I've routinely taken off months at a time and catch up on champs in like 2 weeks of casual play.
The rewards system is outstanding, the fact you can convert draft tokens into cards without playing.
Everything is set up to ensure that you can have access to every single deck you want without killing yourself.
So the only thing left is skill.
I know I've been having a blast, and I also know I'll leave again and come back just as strong.
Just to emphasize the point here's the hottest new meta list and I had no problem getting the cards
Is that something in the works? I think it would be nice to have.

There has to be some recent security issue associated with how they manage username accounts.
The hackers are somehow overriding my old username with a new one, but they can't access my e-mail

I'm finding myself in the middle of another meta where no viable deck appeals to me and statistically speaking I have a 50-50 chance of having one I like around this time in the next expansion as well.
I've never understood why the bulk of the Hearthstone population doesn't feel more cheated when metas settle and only 5-10% of the cards released see play at all. It's no different then buying a footlong sandwich from a Subway and taking two bites then throwing it away!
These are cards good money was spent on or excitement was had awaiting them and then *poof!*, have fun getting beat by the 3 or 4 decks that work if you want to play them. Wait forever to open a Legendary and chances are it stinks. Greedy big effect card? Ha, good luck it'll do anything.
To me it just reeks of laziness that is only allowed bc the community doesn't urge them on buffing cards more: they've shown some indication of wanting to buff cards but imho it's miserably short every time.
Pencils have erasers for a reason and squeeky wheels get the oil. I would seriously raise your voice (which equals $ to them) on trying to get this game away from the robotic states it always falls into. My solution? At least monthly buffs and nerfs. Shake up the metas and have something to look forward to every month.

Quick backstory:
I've been playing since Naxxramas, and used to reach Rank 3 before the ladder revamp. I've made it to Diamond 4 a couple times (where I am now). I'm feeling pretty good about my chances for a first time Legend this month. I got to Diamond mostly playing Ramp Paladin, then switched to this greedy control warlock and have been doing well and having fun. I teach high school, and have vacation coming up next week, so more time to grind. I would love some support from this awesome community.
Here's my current deck:
I would love suggestions on the deck itself, if you have any to offer.
If anyone wants to add me in game and spectate, it could be fun and helpful. I'm currently Diamond 4 Standard.
I tend to beat aggro either by a landslide when I get my good early game stuff and draw lots of Soul Fragments, or by a super thin margin, which is very exciting. I hold up well against most control decks. Ramp Paladin with Alura on curve kills me every time, but what can you do.
Send me positive vibes, Out of Cards! I'm on my way!

Hey everyone, I’m working on a concept that’ll introduce the guild system into hearthstone. I have a few ideas on what to include but I want to hear from you all to see what you’d like to see in a guild system for Hearthstone. Such as; Guild Roles, raids, rewards, benefits, rivalries, and anything else you can think of.
This project will probably be a bit larger than my other creations Tables, and The Tavern Renovation so it’ll be a while before it’s actually posted.
Thank you in advance.

Bonus Stuff
With all Blizzard expansion releases come a plethora of bonuses! Here are my takes on how those would be should this expansion be 'a real thing'
Preodrer Bonus: Yrel Paladin Hero Skin and 'Lightforged' Cardback (Already in game, but does fit Yrel thematically)

Celstial Coin: Awarded to Players who have at least one copy of every card in Maiden Voyage of the Exodar set!

Battlegrounds Heroes: Space travel takes a long time, so some of our guests (and a staff member!) Have joined the Battlegrounds to entertain themselves on our journey.

Final Author Notes
Well I hope you enjoyed the Maiden Voyage of the Exodar! I've been working on this project off and on with fellow designer Mega-Pixel over the last few months. Huge thanks to them and their design of the Logo as well as a ton of cards on here.
Space-based expansions are a rare sight, and I wanted to go for a unique theme rather than Mechs and Sci-fi. Hopefully everyone reading this enjoyed everything it had to offer and found some cards they wish were in the game. Stay tuned as Mega-Pixel and I are working on a mini-set similar to Darkmoon Races.
If you do like the cards, you can also check out another Expansion Mega-Pixel and I collaborated on: Crusade of Light
FYI, the pretty background images for the Darkmoon Faire mini races cards are currently missing in the decklists. EDIT: That was a fast fix, the background images are shown now👍

As the name suggests out of all the base regions that have continued to receive new cards
I have the least brewing excitement about Freljord
It's almost as if the developers are struggling to figure out their card release identity post Targon.
Here's some cards that should have gotten people excited but ultimately fell flat.

So this plays into ramp identity only problem that's what all the new cards for this region do and that deck is already established

It's a mind splitter that avalanches instead of stuns, like on the edge of playability but unexciting
There's a landmark that gives tough when units survive dmg and it's just not worth it like is it a vlad thing I don't know
We also got an 8 mana ramp card which is exactly when you don't need to ramp anymore...it's bad is what I'm saying
Instead they should be attempting to revitalize old archetypes stuff like hand buff
Freiljord allegiance, like give us a reason to want to run omen hawk again
Bit of a ramble but let me know what you guys think in the comments

You now have a very strong game winning deck
But don't believe me watch Bruised By God
Arguably one of the best deck builders around show you how it's done
FYI you hard mul away Viktor, only ever play him leveled for his discount

Alternatively, mobalytics has been doing a great job for once so let's take a look at their deck tier list.
https://lor.mobalytics.gg/meta-tier-list
You see the things you would expect with Fiora Shen & Lee Zoe, scouts, pirate aggro but there's definitely an effort to include less represented options.
Putting discard aggro at the top is an inspired choice & shows that it's not just about the lists people complain about, its about what wins.
A tier is equally well representative with Ash midrange, TF go hard, Darius Sejuani, They who endure, Fearsome aggro, and warmothers ramp
The truth is that you can play any of these lists and have an equally good chance of winning, the only big miss here is Swain he's always viable.
Also you should usually see stun decks with Yassao in B tier because they can still get solid results if piloted well.
Lux also has solid control viability.
But that's it what do you guys think of the current meta? Leave your comments down below!
