We've got a bunch of known issues for the new patch, including an unfortunate issue with Macs being unable to buy things in the store.

Also sucks that Cariel Roame and Alexstrasza are removed from the BG pool for now due to issues.

Patch 29.2 is here, bringing with it Battlegrounds Season 7, Battlegrounds Duos, and much more! This is a big patch, so there are a few known issues we’re tracking. Refer to this post for updates throughout this patch.

The known issues we’re tracking this patch include:

• [Shop] Mac desktop clients are unable to access the Shop in patch 29.2. We’re working on a solution to this issue. In the meantime, you can still make any purchases through the web shop or mobile devices.
• [Cosmetics] There is a bug where the default Coin is generated in-game instead of your Favorited Coin. This is scheduled to be fixed in the next major patch.
• [Added 4/16] [Collection] The team is investigating reports of players unable to open their last pack in a stack.
• [Added 4/16] [Battlegrounds] Using Reno’s Hero Power on Persistent Poet results in a visual bug where it looks like adjacent Dragons are also turned Golden.
• [Added 4/16] [Battlegrounds] The team is investigating player reports of getting Floop’s achievements without earning them.
• [Added 4/16] [Hearthstone] The team is tracking reports of the mulligan “confirm” sometimes not working.
• [Added 4/16] [BNet] The team is investigating why players who are in Battlegrounds appear as “Spectating Dragonblight” in the friends list.
• [Added 4/16] [Shop] The team is investigating reports that the screen will sometimes remain blurred after purchasing a product from the shop. In the meantime, clicking through the blur or restarting the client seems to resolve this issue.

• Cariel Roame and Alexstrasza have been temporarily removed from the Hero Pool due to a bug. (Aranna Starseeker and Queen Azshara are also still temporarily removed from the Hero Pool).

Some highlights include:

• Nine new weapons!
• Crystal Powder, a new resource from reacquiring Corrupted Crystals after the first time.
  • It's used to upgrade Epic weapons to Fantastic mid-run with a new helper NPC, Willy Wonder.
• Summon keyword, with a rework of the Engineer's perks to better align with the new/existing weapons that create allies.
• A new "quest" with a new NPC, Burger Bill, which unlocks additional features in the base camp.
  • The Training Range allows you to test your DPS and mess around with guns you've acquired a card for.

Demon Hunter - No Nerfs Needed

Well isn't that the most bold faced lie ever?!  I honestly don't have a specific list for this, but I'm sure you could probably just slot Ci'Cigi any of the current Aggro DH lists.  Just remove whatever you feel the weakest card is currently and then BAM!  Slap that Collectable Card Game minion right into that spot!  Enjoy some easy wins all while also completing the achievement!  In the below list you could even consider swapping out a Frequency Oscillator as he's horrid if you don't get him early.  If you want to maintain the same amount of early game, maybe Pozzik, Audio Engineer???  He can help disrupt an opponent's game plan, but when played too late he seems to just give the opponent resources to play rather than slowing them down so you don't get some 3/3 mechs.

This is hilarious. The Discord April Fools joke was the introduction of lootboxes. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see this actually happen but you can open up lootboxes in your settings as a part of the promotion, a video played to tease it.

Well, it was possible to have the video loop in the background and apparently YouTube counted all the embedded views.

Over 628 million views as of right now, which destroyed the GTA 6 trailer that is currently sitting at 183 Million views.

Hey all! Just curious what decks everyone has been playing so far in Whizbang's Workshop and how far you've gotten along the ladder grind with them. 

Paladin and Mage took a bit of a dive so my two favourite classes are out of the mix (if I look at a purely hardcore competitive standpoint).

I'm currently thinking about completely jumping on the Spell Hunter train to grind out the tavern pass. Games seem to be quick, the deck crushes Death Knights which I've had some problems with, and it is quite an affordable deck considering the potential it has.

The latest Event is live, and the first quest requires you to play or destroy Joymancer Jepetto. This could be an issue if you don't have the card, but thankfully the current Brawl has him in two of the deck recepies. Just pick Paladin or Shaman and queue until you can play him. Brawl Guide here.

• You can now create an account with social sites.
  • We currently support Battle.net, Steam, Discord, Twitch, and Twitter.
  • If you want to add one of these accounts to your current Out of Games account so you can login with it, visit Account Management.

Realms

• You can now create image threads!
  • Choose the image option when creating a thread to upload an image.
  • The description field is not mandatory, but we encourage folks to talk about their images.
  • Additionally this overhauls the UI for thread creation to be more inline with how other UI on the site works.
• Threads now have icons!
  • Icons will be replaced by a thumbnail if we can generate one.
    • We generate thumbnails for images and any website link that provides an og:image meta property.
• You can now preview the contents of a thread's original post right from thread listings.

Title. If Zok Fogsnout cost 6-Mana instead of 7, you could play Sing-Along Buddy and your Hero Power in the same turn with Zok. That would make him way better; as it is, you are basically forced to play him at turn 10 or later, the entire turn goes into the combo, and the result is often underwhelming. I could rely on Audio Amplifier, I guess, but outside of this singular situation the deck doesn't really care about that 11th Mana Crystal.

Hero Power Druid could be more fun and rewarding - I love messing with Hero Power-based decks, but the current support for Druid just doesn't seem to get there. Once we're past opening day and the *real* decks come out to play, I imagine Zok, Groovy Cat, and Free Spirit go back to the recycling bin...just like last time :(

Hi all, just a reminder that pack opening order matters! I have a handful of Standard packs saved up, and will be buying many Whizbang packs using gold. I plan to open my Standard packs first, as I believe they are more likely to give me Whizbang cards (since I already own most of the cards from last year's sets).

If I've got this wrong, I hope someone will correct me ASAP!

New Features

Backend

• We have upgraded the framework our site runs on, Django, to the latest 5.x release.
  • We have been running on a much older version of Django and it was no longer going to be receiving security fixes for much longer.
  • Additionally, there are some nice performance and developer improvements to the framework, so upgrading was a no-brainer.
  • This is by far the largest upgrade of our codebase that has ever taken place and has been in the works for a while.
• We have also upgraded our version of Python to the most recent stable version.
  • There have been some huge performance improvement to python over the past couple of years and now we are taking advantage of that.

Editor

• We have updated our editor to a new version for an improved experience on mobile.
  • Our custom plugins for bbcode will be making a return shortly.
• You can now access "templates" in the editor (rubber stamp icon).
  • This is where our "quote bbcode" is going to live going forward. It better showcases the usage of it.
  • More templates for common formats folks post about will be introduced as it makes sense.

Static Assets

• Work has been started on improving our JavaScript and CSS load times.

Articles

• We have a new look for our article pages which includes a sidebar.
• Article listings (View All News) have a new look.

• Fixed an issue on several pages where pretty lists with selectable icons no longer had their icons.

Hey, so you've probably seen the site is a bit goofy. I'm working on it!

Did it have any to begin with?

Certainly so! I really enjoyed the PVE nature of the game with the occasional PVP battle mixed in when we were getting close to a new unlock in the guild. But, man, I just lost touch with the game. It was fairly quick to get through the main part of the campaign, with a little resistance in the last few zones but it was to be expected. My problem began when I figured out how Heroic worked.

Heroic was awesome and I wish I had of started it sooner because it would be been an insanely "profitable" thing to bash through for those sweet upgrades, instead of relying on Arclight Surges. But then I 100% completed Elywnn Forest and the bastards gave me a limited-time shop deal that was just impossible to say no to.

And that's how they get you every single damn time. I haven't completed any other zones on Heroic purely because I know the deal will be too good to pass up and if I was having fun, I'll be more inclined to make the purchase. I don't mind buying stuff that is good value and paying for the games I play, but Warcraft Rumble just feels so bad with their monetization.

It's not as bad as some other games. Clash Royale has a pretty shit monetization system. Clash of Clans, which is one of my favourite mobile games of all time, makes it difficult to play for extended sessions without paying money; Of course I just started two other accounts to get around that lmao.

But yeah, the guild died because everyone else stopped playing and I have logged in once in the past two weeks. Heroic cheesed me a bit and I just wish there was more to do in the game. The PvP is kinda bland, though I think that's largely due to the small minion pool available. One unit being releases every few months doesn't feel fun enough. In fact, I don't really ever see a need to change strategies all that much which might be the problem.

I think there's very good designs in the game, but it needs something more. What do you think?

Sule - Toy Captain Tarim Comment

This is interesting: The first half of Tarim is obviously going to be used as a buff for a smaller friendly minion, and the second half as a debuff for an enemy minion. A neat little two-for-one for aggro pally; I think there's a ton of gas for that archetype so I'm fairly certain we'll be seeing this guy around. (sidenote: one of the great tragedies of Baku-era standard was that Odd Paladin was so good that the obviously busted 6-Cost Tarim was close to an afterthought).

In this brawl you'll be given a hand full of cards that contain card names and you will need to match the card names to the minions that are on the board.

• You have more spells in your hand than there are minions, so don't expect this to be easy.
• If you make a mistake, the board resets!

Just an odd observation on my part, but while checking what stuff I’m missing in each set, I noticed that the four new Rumble minions they added to the Core set are also craftable as Legacy cards.

I’m not sure why that is, as it breaks with how other new cards in Core have been in the past.  But the interesting part of this is that if you craft the Legacy versions, they are usable in Twist right now.

Worth it?!  Probably not.  But I said fuck it and did it anyway!  [Hearthstone Card (Gnomelina, S.A.F.E. Pilot) Not Found] isn’t bad as a board clear, and the inclusion of Night Elf Huntress in Odd Paladin this morning helped me clear taunts for lethal.

So they are situational at best, but in the right situation they can be nice!  I really like Huntress because one of her three hits can go face.  So you could clear two minions to help control the board and also deal 3 face damage with one card.
