Ugh, this is going to suck to play against. With shaman's new 1/3 you can go that on 1, and follow up with this plus voltaic burst for crazy early boards. Add in the new patches esque pirate and we're back to who can high roll a super broken early game.
I mean this could be a decent arena card, not seeing it's niche use in constructed allowing it to actually make the cut in a deck, but I like that it exists.
Based on everyone else's rating, I think this is the sleeper of the expansion. I don't think this makes a token deck though, I think it makes a zoo deck where you run a very low curve and ultimately plan on playing out on curve with one or both copies of this active. These should basically slot in for whatever few pieces of top end you'd normally run.
I feel like this could get really good after the next standard rotation when the pool of cards gets more limited and consistency goes up a bit, right now so many classes would be hitting results that are wildly different on a regular basis.
The card is definitely strong in a vacuum, even if it just gives you back 2/3 or so in stats, which is reasonable when played on curve. The question is does a tempo deck exist for priest and is it better that the aggro lightwarden style. Personally I'm hopeful but not sure.
I rated this straight 3 stars but if a weapon meta develops this is obviously going to be a major consideration. Overall I love this new mechanic, really ups the ante with regards to weapons.
People comparing this to dragon soul are missing a major difference. Yes dragon soul was less likely to be removed than a 2/5 is, but:
1. Mage has more cheap spells than priest did at the time dragon soul was around
2. A 2/5 for 3 is playable even if you never get the upside of it's text, dragon soul on the other hand was often spend 3 do nothing for a turn.
3. Mana cyclone still exists to cycle those cheap spells into more valuable spells after you've used them to make those 5/5's, priest didn't have many other ways to squeeze value out of those cheap spells beyond dragon soul and discounting their 7/8 taunts.
I think this card is going to single-handedly keep cyclone mage relevant after the event ends and flamewaker returns to wild.

Patches 2.0... with even moar stats!
The high rolls with this will be real... potential 1 mana 5/5's incoming.

So basically would you trade 2 armor and a card draw for a 2/3 and a lackey? I think I would.

Finally some kind of answer to crazy control decks. It's late, but better late than never.
Only way this sees play is with some uber niche combo deck, and I don't see it, but memes are still fun
I'm still very unsure about dragon hunter but this is an obvious include if that's a thing.
This will likely only be good for 1 expansion while Reckless Experimenter still exists but it has serious potential with that

Obvious autoinclude in dragon decks, no real downsides to it. Strong card.
Total meme card, could be fun for trolden clips, but definitely not competitive.
Solid stats for 8 mana (or 10), dragon tag, and lots of upside potential. Good card.
I think this could be useful in a waxadred style deck as an alternative target to copy, and worse case it's a very playable 3 drop. Nice card.

I don't know what a deck that runs this looks like but I know better than to discount coins.

This is better than Varian since you get the battlecry and can hold off on actually playing them if you want. Solid card for sure.
