I logged in this evening for the first time in about two weeks. This after having played near enough every day since I started around Whispers of the Old Gods. I opened packs barely registering what I got.
I preordered the new set out of habit but have no idea what's in it and tbh I'm not sure I care any more. Questlines destroyed standard along with a lack of anything that inspired me to build decks. The cards this year were just dull. On top of that Battlegrounds feels tired, Duels died ages aho and dear God but Mercs sucks.
It's a very strange, surreal feeling. HS has been my main game for years... and now it barely registers.
So despite Quest Warrior and Hunter being 3rd tier decks at best in Standard, you want to ruin them because of wild?
How about no.
We could finally permaban the odd/even legendaries instead, if that's an issue.
I'm playing Quest Hunter simply because it seems to be the only thing that gives me a hope in hell against solitaire Mage and Warlock, which make up about 90% of the decks i face atm. The lack of card draw holds it in check in standard.
What we really need to address is the insanely efficient card draw both Mage and Warlock have that breaks the quests.
In addition to the various Paladin decks, the thing I'd really like them to address is decks that don't interact with the board. Burn mage, OTK Demon Hunter and Weapon Rogue the prime culprits. I was watching some Grandmasters and dear God... games with almost zero interaction between the players beyond sending burn straight to face.
Those stats make me fear for Hunter. Noone talks about it but it's quietly very solid, getting even this scrub a twelve game win streak (I'm playing my own version of Aggro, not the full on Face net deck from HSR). Damned if I know what card I'd change though.
Paladin is ridiculous on ladder. Mage is still ridiculous, as evidenced by the godawful tournament they're broadcasting this weekend. The meta is not is the least bit healthy.
They've also destroyed Battlegrounds. We did not need more tribes, especially not one so obviously and hideously overpowered as Quillboars.
Mankrik won't be nerfed. His angry form might be. I doubt that counts for a dust refund. It's still a very solid card.
Hammer and Libram of 8/8. They're not hugely out of whack but I think they and Apexis Blast are a touch too much value, especially when the Paladin plays his 4th 3 or 4 cost heal-and-a-beefy-taunt. Hell, changing Liadrin to spells cast on minions would stop that.
Fwiw I favour refreshing spring water going down to a single mana crystal.
I'd additionally take a good look at the paladin big token generators, and apexis blast. I feel all three are too much value. The tokens could stand stat nerfs and blast not going face maybe?
They're fine... but to replace my Magni? Or Medivh? Or Tyrande? Nah. Not troll people with Sir Annoyo? Come on...
I'd love to take one for one of my preferred classes, but the Rexxar isn't as good as my current version, nor the Malfurion as good as Cenarius Malfurion.
Guess the Valeera could replace Maiev... but I nearly never play Rogue, Warlock or DH, and I have the Murloc for Shaman if it gets out of the gutter.
Still... if you're a WoWer with memories of these looks I guess...
As a matter of interest, how many medium profile non-male streamers are there right now? Players who aren't pretty much BG exclusive. So while we're excluding the likes of Slyssa and Sunglitters we'd also exclude Dog and Kripp.
In this sort of event I'd want to see less competetive (non grandmasters, so as much as I like Thijs...) constructed main players. Kibler has long been my favorite streamer and he is exactly the type these events need. I've not watched Allie in a while but she seems an ideal fit too.
In a game where we have no idea who or what is on thd other side it boggles my mind that people discriminate against the ladies. HS is gender neutral, so the community should be too.
I'm way down in Silver, and Spell Mage is still in heavy rotation there. Not sure why it's down as hard as it seems higher up because the deck still seems strong.
I play my own stupid builds, which colours my opinion in several ways, but I'm still unconvinced by the changes. Refreshing Spring water is still nuts.
I think Paladin and Mage continue to dominate. Pen Flinger will just clear the way for the buffed up Paladin minions to get the win, machine gunning opposing boards.
Refreshing Spring Water willremain a ridiculous "draw 2 for 0". No-minion mage will continue to be insanely powerful, especially with Font of Power providing insane value far more often than it whiffs.
Rogue willbe less effective. I don't see anything else changing beyond a few less Lunacy high roll wins.

I use casual to test drive decks to see if I enjoy them, if they work for me. I was playing and happened into a Mask lethal and didn't get the reward. You know what Dean? Wasn't fun. Mage usually isn't a class I play much (I wasn't even playing mage at the time) so I thought I'd get a bonus. Nope.

Crabrider - love it. Still good, not busted.

Spring water - massive miss. The obvioos change was refresh 1 mana/spell. Making it 5 mana does almost nothing.

Hysteria - unnecessary. It was fine, if deeply annoying.

Having just played against it dear God I wish Paralytic poison had 'this turn" added to it's text....
Buffs? Anything that lets me play a midtange minion deck please. This meta is Rock-paper-scissors to the extreme.
And that meta breakdown is why this Hunter/Warrior main can't be bothered watching.
Especially as the bulk of "other" players are in Asia Pacific, so Europe and NA will be incredibly dull.

Not nerfing Refreshing Spring Water is insanity. The ridiculous value of draw 2 cards for 0 has caused me far more anger than Lunacy.
I would have liked the heal+summon 8/8 Libram to lose taunt too but you can't have everything.

Font of power - Cost 3.
Lady Liadrin - Copy spells cast on friendly MINIONS.

Only 6 changes happening though...
I hope this does spell death for the Exodia builds. The endless tokens should just not happen.
