In what scenario would you rather not have a 2/2 body on top of it all? Not sure if this comparison works ; the two are certainly alike but doesn't mean its the same, plus, they aren't mutually exclusive in the deckbuilding process.
Drawing card of a certain type - tutor - is already good, a mana discount to (0) on top of that is pretty amazing!! It doesn't fit every mage deck, but in the right list this can be pretty damn good.

Since Dungeon run and the introduction of passives ability, not only do you need to be lucky on your cards selection packages, but also on your passives, treasures and even sometimes bosses sequence order ... and you haven't drawn any cards yet ! RNG on top of RNG on top of RNG on top of RNG ...
