Had more to do than just this latest lawsuit.
This latest lawsuit for me is the line.
Hearthstone isn't my first Blizzard game and have been playing most of what they have for well over 10 years.

Some things they improved upon so all good.
Others are getting worse. Don't find it worth my time to deal with them anymore. So many games out there to play instead.

BUT not supporting a company due to a long history of sexual abuse and racism is a very good reason to stop supporting them and doesn't happen very often so I won't fall into an Amish lifestyle. Most people understand how to treat others respectfully. The ones that don't shouldn't be a company at all.

At this point you have to start asking those still loyal where the line is.

I found the line with the lawsuit and Blizzard's public reaction to it which was very disappointing that they denied it all when the lawsuit perfectly described the culture at Blizz still.

    When is too much?

Tough position for Flux and the team.
Hard to support a company that is now known for being ground zero of racism, sexism, and harassment. It isn't just them as this behaviour is wide-spread in the gaming community.
I ignored all of that when I played WoW. Ignored that mods didn't take any action against players who repeatedly made terrible comments in local.
I can't ignore it anymore. It is hard to ignore with how bad it is.

First off - it is 2021 and amazing that this is still going on and the words - "minorities and women weren't treated equally" shouldn't be something we say in 2021.

Great for Mike speaking up now but this is a problem that goes back when he was CEO. It was part of the culture and still is. Where was he then?

Only now when Blizzards name is trashed he comes out?!

Weening myself away but I have un-installed Hearthstone and discovering a lot of great games out there that are actually better than Hearthstone.
    It has been liberating.
I can't support a company that has a pattern of decades of abuse.  Maybe now, finally, we can rise up and say this isn't the culture we want as it most compares to white supremacy groups.

We should speak up against the abuse and seriously start cleaning house till the gamer culture is more inclusive and is fun for everyone!!
Anyone who supports the abuse or participates in it should be banned, ignored, and barred from having a voice.
As much as people scream about the 1st Amendment - that has nothing to do with this if you know anything about #1A and it surely should not protect hate. Words have impact.

They should ban all of the cheat cards and stop making them.

Not really rare as anyone can attempt it. Rare that anyone has done it which puts it at being the 2 most difficult achievements to complete

Nothing is being nerfed and dust refunds came for nerfed cards not cards going out of standard rotation.

How are they going to classify dual class cards?
Where do the cards go? In which class? Both classes? New folder for the dual class cards?

Not fall into the complacent lackadaisical work ethic that we had on Hearthpwn in the last few year. Content quality fell a lot in the past year.

Use this new found energy to keep the site lively and thriving. Create content continuously and not just when a news story breaks from Blizzard. You can't build a site on news alone. Articles about CCG's in addition to news would be great and more of a reason to come back. Inspire discussions and interest. DIg deeper into the games beyond just pasting Blizzard press releases and have actual articles about the games. So many topics that can be explored beyond nerfs and new cards. It will get people more involved in the site and coming back often. A great model is 'Blizzard Watch' and what they do and they are a successful website that was created from a corporate entity shutting 'WoWInsider' down.

When you add in dozens more of the same thing the value of them goes away and they are meaningless. If you collected each and every one then the fun of them goes away as well as the value they are to Blizzard - which is one way they generate revenue - heroes.

If this was a non-profit free game then sure but it isn't. It is a game for profit and a pay to play game.. and the ones who pay subsidize the free users so that there are enough people playing.

Impossible to change your mind as you think you should get everything for free and don't understand basic concepts of revenue generation for long term growth and sustainability.

Not to mention that only one of the two sites is a corporate profit venture.  With corporations, profit is the product, and the purported product is only a means to an end and is therefore invested in as little possible to reach that end.  Look at the airlines, the experience is terrible, universally reviled, but they sell tickets so that's how it goes.

You do realize that Flux is looking to make an income here, right? What he does is to bring over people and have enough traffic that revenue is generated whether it is through ad dollars or donations. Your statement would be correct if he did this purely for the community but like any website it is there for revenue to support it and also the person behind it. That's not a bad thing at all. Nothing wrong with wanting to make money off of a website and why they are all out there. I

An announcement was made that other site was purchased by another entity that has taken over ownership now.
What I liked is the backing of the mods and, of course, Flux. 90% were in support of Flux and the Mods and even this site...not that they are here and still posting there : / Curious as to everyone's thoughts about that site not closing and new ownership taking the helm of the ship.

Calling Hearthpwn "that other site" is highly immature im sorry. Its not about your opinion on the selling besides you cant possibly know all the conversations and procedures by listening only one side.

I called it "that other site" out of respect for Flux and the mods and not being sure if they wanted that name being stated here. It isn't just about my opinion as why I asked for others to share theirs lol. I also continued to say in response to another member just that; We don't know what went down and why the decisions that were made were made.

I'm kind of hold the opinion that it was a dick move by then to not allow Flux and the others to purchase the site saying they are going to shut it down. Then at the 11th hour once they had moved to here decided "hey let's just sell it anyway."

Chances are I'll probably still stay here since I'm hoping this is where Flux and co. Will keep updating cause they've shown us over the years that they care and want to keep the community thriving. However if they stay at "the other site", I may stay there as it's where I got my start with the hearthstone community.

All in all, I'm both happy and annoyed at this move by curse. Happy because Hearthpwn lives. Annoyed because as I said in the beginning dick move to sell to another party when Flux was showing an intrest to keep it alive.

A lot of variables go into why a site gets sold and to who it gets sold to. Can't really start flinging insults when you don't know the why behind the decisions they made.
From what it seems, the new owners have experience with running gaming websites already and had the resources and revenue in place to continue forward.

The question that would make more sense is if the new owners are reaching out to Flux to stay on.

Easiest way to win. Kripp had a video on this. Beat Heroic on is first try with this trick. Easy to set up and easy to execute.
What a pain when the opponents have high health though.

Play how you want but why would you want to miss out on the variety of classes and decks and styles of play available to you in Hearthstone. It's great when you find a deck you can master and climb up the ladder with but after a time it gets boring playing the same thing. You know it so well and you know the answers you have so well that any sort of challenge is gone. You stop thinking and just mindlessly play cards.

I think it's fun to try out other classes and decks. While I don't play every class I do have a handful of favorites I go between and it adds that nice variety to the game. I think the funniest I've seen is a one class player who likes to play one type of deck and named himself after the deck.

Yeah. None of the above. It's a game. Having fun. Why get upset?

The ropers are the worst. They know they are going to lose so each turn they rope. What sore losers. Just concede or accept your fate of losing. Everyone loses matches. No one is 100% or ever will be.

His big insult was calling you a virgin.. which is very much what 14 year olds do. That angry tween teen needs some hugs to feel better about himself.
