They did the right thing by making her free for a time. Not because you have to do something "special" to get her but because the "special" thing is literally impossible to achieve by some/a lot of players (just like Tyrande was).

Hearthstone is a game, and as a Game Designer I know that the game must be fun for anyone involved.
So, even if something is not above "50%" winrate but makes the player experience bad it will/should be changed.
At least that what the designers should do.
