Yes, I went to wowpedia to read some more, they have this:
"They are creatures not purely of fire.They are fiery elementals, but their bodies are flesh and blood. "
apparently they are modeled after the D&D salamanders …

Hmm, is this a Giant mage buff? Imagine Mage, with Giant on board, plays [card]Khadgar[/card] into [card]Conjurer's Calling[/card] and pops 4 of these, then the Warlock plays [card]Twisting Nether[/card]... oops
Nevermind, I don't know why I thought the giants …
