My first 3 games after the patch I had my win con Theotar'd lol.. It's actually so demoralizing to the point where I loath logging in. I'm also just considering playing bad decks so when they Theotar there's nothing good for them to steal...
It doesn't matter how many cards I have in hand, 4, 7, 10... they always hit my Sire or most important card.
Bold move for Blizzard to move to a "pay for a slight advantage" model with the perks then to immediately offer a quest reward that requires you to place 1st. I win the odd one (39 times in the hundreds of games I've played) but I feel like it's been tougher lately as the quests create even more high roll games where some guy just gets the nuts and hits me for 20 on turn 7-8.
Thought I was screwed because I had King Phaoris (10 drop who cares about spells in hand for a tavern brawl with 30 minions) and Vandar + Kazakus (both 4 mana so nullifying each other). Then I realized Vandar works once you discount him with Offensive Play. EZ win lol
Definitely looks cool, but comes down pretty late. Might not be that great because of that.
Yeahhhh.. about that... In my limited experience so far, it's coming down way too early (in Druid and Priest decks) and it's just ending games immediately with broken treasures that weren't designed to be in Standard. You can't really play around them either.
I'm not seeing anything but old decks, I don't know what to tell you.
Not everyone buys the miniset on Day 1 and with the cards that were released (namely the two big Dragons) I don't blame people for playing the consistent old aggro decks.
I have played a handful of games and at least half have been against Kazakuson Druid. It's annoying AF to play against, so maybe count yourself lucky. It no longer feels like hearthstone when I'm getting my face beat in by QuelDelar and taking another 14 damage from Locustsss. These cards were created and balanced for Duels, where you have higher life totals and larger decks.
When Druid ramps out Kazakus on your Turn 4/5 they now have a 20-60% chance to draw a particular Duels treasure next turn that will just end the game. You can't really play around any of them.
So after playing it throughout the weekend.... it's frustratingly bad against alot of the popular decks. You're maybe 5% to win against Pirate Warrior which is still about 50% of my matches (even after the quest nerf) and I'm just auto-conceding at this point to not waste my time.
Also feels bad against Secret Mage (this is still a thing?), doesn't have the lethality to handle Shudderwork Shaman, and needs to draw pretty well to handle Aggro Priest.
I'm having fun against the slower decks but I need to concede 3-4 games first before I can match up against one.
I need 80 more wins with Druid to reach 500 (it's my last class under 500) and so I crafted Elise & Hadronox to have some fun during the grind :) Having alot of fun so far in the few games I've tried. Beast Druid in standard can get a bit stale.
I didn't craft Floop and instead threw a Wrath in there.
Man, I'm struggling to stay motivated with this game... I'm still jamming new archetypes like Big DH, Beast Druid and Frost Shaman... but today I went 0-7 against exclusively OwlTK Warlock and Libram Paladin.
Against Warlock, it didn't seem to matter what I did at any stage in the game, the outcome was inevitable. Whether I had a board full of 7/9 and 8/8 demons or I cast Glide to reduce his hand to 4 cards. He always had a way to clear my threats and heal himself up. So frustrating.
I havent played a ton of games but I have actually only seen old decks (mainly Quest Mage, Pirate Warrior and Aggro Druid). Must just be the MMR bracket I'm in or bad luck queueing into people just worried about ranking up.
Played 5 games this morning to complete quests and went 0-5 against exclusively Quest Mage and Pirate Warrior, yet again not a single new card detected in any of the games.
Played a few games after opening my packs. Tried out Freeze Shaman, Big DH and Beast Druid... my opponents were old Quest Mage (no new cards), Aggro Druid (no new cards) and Control Priest (no new cards). Fun!
My only 2 classes left under 500 wins is Druid and DH so it was nice to get some new toys there. I'll likely craft Kurtrus, Demon-Render then wait and see how the meta plays out before I craft anything else.
Can confirm. I finished up a 12 win run this morning with Wither the Weak and Imp-credible Trousers. Any deck that starts a bit slow had no chance if I was playing Fel DH spells on turn 1/2.

I feel like the meta was in a decent spot after the Thief Rogue nerfs too. They couldn't help themselves lol.

Played 3 games this morning to finish my daily and all 3 games ended with me being destroyed by Locustsssss or other ridiculuous Kazakuson treasures.
Not sure how I feel about it yet... It felt terrible to lose to stuff I have no way of playing around.
I suppose I just need to play hyper aggro decks that will win before Kazakus comes down?
I don't think Hit It Very Hard adds to the weapon attack right? Bloodsail Raider wouldn't get the +20 extra attack?
Battletag: ShiftyX#1546
Region: NA
Trade only: yes you go first
I nabbed a Golden Tavish in my gold pack! I was thinking of crafting him so I'm pretty excited.
I'm on NA too, but I don't play much wild so it's possible my MMR has me in the braindead pirate warrior zone.

After reading this I decided to go ahead and click my reward track level 20 legendary... and it ended up being Drek'Thar hahaha!

I opened about 80 packs and got Wildheart Guff, golden Caria Felsoul, Wing Commander Ichman, Bearon Gla'shear and Tamsin's Phylactery.
