My favorite moment in 2019 was the announcement and release of Battlegrounds, it was unexpected and totally caught me by surprise! And it’s a fantastic addition to Hearthstone!
Looking forward to seeing how the HS team is going to shake up the meta come the next rotation! If it’s anything like this past year, I can’t wait
As a person who plays High Priest Thekal, I’m not terribly worried about this card. It just means that I have to time it’s effect where I can get lots of healing back on the same turn to prevent me from being at lethal damage. Thekal is more of a tempo play so I can activate Zandalari Templar.
Definitely a bummer of a card for Warrior and Druid though. RIP armor gain. However, as many people have already stated, when you get rid of the armor, you have to kill them that turn as well, otherwise they go right back to gaining armor.
IF dragon hunter is viable, this is a good card. IF. Just needs some cheap dragons, pair that with all the hero power stuff hunter is getting, and get ready for fiery war axe 2.0
Fun card, another board clear for priest. I’m curious to see if this makes its way into battlegrounds as a tier 6 card, seems suited for a way to make the dragon tribe unique in battlegrounds
Meta dependent for sure. If Aggro dominates, this card will do nothing to stop it. Sure, it will have 6/6 in stats (on average in the early game), but against a wide board, this doesn’t accomplish much.
Now if the meta shifts to more dragon/control based decks, I think this card is going to be crazy good
Yes, yes, yes! The fact this has lifesteal makes this card a huge winner in my potential Highlander dragon healadin deck. How to fit 30 cards in this type of deck is going to be an issue
In wild, this will be nuts. Not sure about standard. It all depends if/when you draw it.
But if you do draw it, get ready to have a huge tempo advantage. The power level on these cards reminds me a lot of Kobolds and Catacombs. Hopefully many classes are viable this time around as opposed to just cubelock all day long
Might have to give even lock a go in wild with this card.
In standard, I’m undecided on the impact of this card. A turn 6 Summoner with a turn 7 Felgorge into a turn 8 Summoner would be sick. In any other situation, it’s meh.
I have a feeling that there are one or two more cards that has synergy with hand size that have yet to be revealed. Once we get an idea of the whole set, then we’ll have a better picture of how capable hand lock will be
Interesting card, not sure it will see play, it’s horrible in the late game, and since it’s not reliably drawn at the beginning, there’s no guarantee you’ll get it in time to make a meaningful impact in the first few turns.
Could see play in Aggro Paladin or Secret Paladin, where the opponent would need to prioritize either the board that you are developing or having to deal one damage to face.
Could see play in Gonk Druid, but other than that, it’s too risky to put out. Like others said, Combo priest would benefit from this card. I’m curious to see if Taunt Warrior can utilize this somehow as well.
A perfect fit for my Highlander Healadin. Once the rotation comes, I’m replacing all the secrets stuff with Talritha and Nozdormu and this, so excited!
A 2/5 tutor with a potentially powerful deathrattle. Time to play priest to counter this! Cabal Shadow Priest with love to stealthis over in my thief priest build.
Interested to see what other dragons will support the dragon warlock archetype. Don’t forget about the new lackey that can discover a dragon, I can see a tempo dragon lock with Dark Pharaoh Tehkan and Galakrond becoming really powerful

Most of the dragons that you have battlecry, too much mana, vulnerable to silence if you can’t hatch it on that turn.
A really neat mechanic, Blizzard has impressed me with their creativity in Descent of Dragons, but sadly, this card will hardly see play.
Love the idea, but will you last long enough to even play this card?
That’s my only beef with this card. I can see some crazy Glinda combos with this and Mountain Giant. A
Love this card, love the reveal video by Firebat. My wife primarily plays Pogo Rogue, so I can’t wait to surprise her with this card come December.

Its just not consistent enough
