A 2 drop with rush, but dormant for 2 turns. Basically, played on curve this is very strong. Its essentially a turn 4 rush with full mana crystals to work with.
Works very well with paladin and new priest, because they can buff this thing into high heaven on turn 4 and swing tempo, just okay with the other classes.
Played outside of curve however, this thing is plain mediocre. Top deck this thing and its essentially draw nothing.
This is an interesting criticism that could be lobbed pretty equally at the entire cycle of imprisoned demons in this set. Some are probably more impactful in the late game than others, but you're always top-decking a card that does nothing in the moment.
Unsurprisingly, Imprisoned Vilefiend is uniquely weak when compared to the other four revealed imprisoned demons, but that's fine since it's neutral. More than anything, this is probably a card to showcase this new functionality on a neutral card.
But your enemy could have filled the board earlier, leaving you nothing to defend. I know it doesn't too threatening, but 1-2 turns of doing nothing can be dangerous if facing face hunter and the like.
Skipping turn 2 is not the end of the world even against an aggro deck. It simply means you need to have build your deck in anticipation of skipping turn 2, so your turn 3 and 4 are more important.
Just an ideal case example; skip turn 1, turn 2 play this, turn 3 play a 3/4, opponent builds a wide board for the first 3 turns and somehow value trades against your 3/4. Turn 4 Consecration with a 3/5 rush. No aggro deck can ever survive that tempo-wise.
The only exception to the rule will be face hunter, because that deck doesnt care if you build a board, destroys their board, or in fact if youre even playing the game. If you dont have any healing you're dead turn 6. Period.
