The Datamined Scholar Jaina Playable Hero is From a Shop Bundle Arriving on September 15

Scholar Jaina, a Hero we previously datamined in the Scholomance Academy patch, now has a source!

Announced today as a part of the Forbidden Library event, Blizzard has confirmed that this new hero portrait can be yours in the in-game shop alongside 5 Standard Mage card packs! The bundle will only be available for one week starting on September 15, so don't miss out if you want this younger version of our favourite core Mage hero.

Additional Datamined Heroes

With the new adventure, Book of Heroes, following the stories of the core heroes of Hearthstone, it looks like these heroes may be available in their own bundles in the future.

  • Hunter - Warsong Rexxar
  • Paladin - Second War Uther
  • Paladin - Horseman Uther
  • Warrior - Nagrand Garrosh

Second War Uther is more likely the candidate for the Paladin Bundle since that is the younger version, and more realistic, version of the two. Perhaps Horseman Uther will be a part of the Hearthstone Battle Pass.

  • This is an incredibly boring design. If they were going to represent Jaina as a student, why not have a bit of fun with it. Star Student Stelina is oozing with character for instance.

  • As Hearthstone progresses, year upon year, Jaina gradually puts on more and more clothing.

by 2026 she’ll be wearing a very nice parka.

    • to be fair she does actually look better now.

Leave the slutty costumes for Rogues

I agree! I mean, with her original outfit, I’m like... frost mage or no, aren’t you cold dressed like that? 😉

  • Am I the only one who thinks this portrait is...weird? I can't put a finger on Jaina's facial expression there, it's creeping me out.

I'm excited for the other datamined portraits though.

  • I understand, but I do not like this "not so wise" decision about putting hero skin not as reward for some gameplay activities, but just for money.

I like portraits that show that you "did something cool" not because you are whale guy. Arthas is great example of what I have on mind.

    But, whatever. It's Blizzard.

  • I'd wager the bundle to be $9.99. Seems a fair price

  • I'd still prefer if you could JUST buy the skin, I dont really want to pay for packs I dont need just to get the skin.

  • Do we know the cost for this bundle?

    • Not yet unfortunately.

  • Another mage skin.... What is this like 6th/7th... Pls some rogue hunter (they still have 1 skin if i am not mistaken)

  • Jaina before breast implants?

  • Why mage packs again? The other 9 classes never had a class package, but Mage did.

  • Finally, a non angry Jaina portrait.

  • Not a bad one, but in my opinion it just doesn't stand a change against Jaina Proudmoore and Fire Mage Jaina.

  • That's a nice looking portrait.

If I understand standard then they'll be cards from Classic, Year of the Dragon and Year of the Phoenix? That's a pool of about 80 cards to draw from.

Most of these bundles cost somewhere between $10-$15, it's not a bad price for a starting player who needs to pad their collection of mage cards.

  • We JUST got a new Mage, and this is just Jaina again. Jesus christ.

    • I think the real reason we're getting Jaina first is because she is the first hero you unlock when playing Hearthstone. They can move new players from the tutorial over to the adventure easily and it's an extra step of learning for the game.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Book of Heroes is a new tutorial mode and once it's completed with all heroes available, that will be the new way to unlock them all. The Demon Hunter campaign was a great way to introduce heroes and its possible Basic card unlocks could be moved to individual fights in the adventure.
