Madness at the Darkmoon Faire Freebies
- Your first level of the new Rewards Track gives you a random Darkmoon Faire legendary. You must click on it to claim it.
New Features: Rewards Track, Quests, Achievements
If you're just coming back to Hearthstone, you need to know about the new rewards track, quest system, and achievements.
The Rewards Track is Hearthstone's new progression system.
- You earn experience by completing quests, some achievements, and playing the game.
- Each level in the track gives you a reward. Levels get harder the higher you go up. (Experience Chart)
- Levels past 50 only grant gold and require quite a bit of grinding to get through.
- An optional addition is the monetary purchase of the Tavern Pass which gives you additional rewards for progressing.
- You also unlock experience boosts which makes progression faster.
It is also worth mentioning that the overall consensus in the Hearthstone community is the rewards track needs improvement through increased experience gain to bring gold gains up to par with them prior to the new system.
Quests have been overhauled!
- Daily quests have been replaced with new ones.
- You now earn experience from completing dailies instead of gold.
- A new type of quest has been added - weekly quests!
- Each week, you will receive 3 weekly quests that are a bit longer in length but reward greater numbers of experience.
If you want to learn more about the new quests, we have dedicated guides available.
Finally, an achievement system has been added to the game.
- You complete achievements to earn achievement points (some even reward experience).
- Your achievement points cannot be spent. They are simply a record of your progress.
- The more difficult an achievement is, the more achievement points they reward you.
Madness at the Darkmoon Faire Launch Day Goals
- Log in and claim your freebies (see above).
- Craft any golden cards you really want; with duplicate protection on packs, you won't open duplicates on any cards until you've collected all the cards from that rarity.
- Open up your card packs! You're guaranteed a Legendary in the first 10.
- Share your deck ideas with us! You can use our deckbuilder to show them off. Don't forget to write a guide!
Also, it is worth mentioning that there is no pity timer on Golden Darkmoon Faire packs from the pre-order. You get what you get!
Madness at the Darkmoon Faire Day 1 Theorycraft Decks
There are a ton of theorycraft decks we're sharing this time around from ourselves, community members, and some top streamers.
Please remember - Crafting cards on day 1 is not always the best investment for your dust. You're better off using decks as a general template and brewing your own for at least the first week until the meta begins to form. After the meta is more stable, crafting becomes more valuable.

Confused. Opened like 20 packs and got the achievement "Collect all 10 Madness at the Darkmoon Faire Demon Hunter Cards". The page here in OOC shows there are 15 Demon Hunter cards in the expansion? What is going on?
PS: I didn't get any DH legendary
Blizzard indicate the are going to replace the last 6 packs with a total of 1350 gold. Though I still maintain even level 50 is less gold than just quests in the old system (now 5,550g vs 7,260g), and for far more effort.
Ah posted in separate news item now - good stuff.
I don't know if it's a bug or something. But I kinda lost all my "precious" achievement points after restarting the game for the release. Down to 180 from 9000's ?! Anybody recognized the same?
Not that I really care about it at the moment, I was just confused.
Same here - relog and should be back.
Thanks, they are back.
Golden Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate from my mega bundle!!! Nice!!!
Not going to lie, I'm a pretty casual player and I am actually liking the rewards track now. I was super skeptical about how it was going to impact my playing because there are classes that I DO NOT like to play at all. However, in just the past few days I am actually stoked about it and am liking how it will play into this expansion.
Isn't that 8 PM CEST?
You would be correct but I goofed. Shoulda said CET!
As Chronobreaker has said, this timeline amuses me.
No freebies!? WHAT?!
Already woven into the first levels of the Reward Track, I'm affraid :( Or they might surprise us ...
Yeah, I know what they'd say... "You also get one bonus pack because of the unfinished arena run. Enjoy it!" :-D
Yep - no freebies. The legendary you normally get was already on the rewards track. And packs I suppose were the duels quest packs,
