It gives you a choice between three random Basic/Classic cards that "you could want" through some complex Blizz coding.
Thanks for the explanation. So it is basically a discover effect where the game decides and weights the choices depending on what is happening in the game? I wonder if this is done in a similar way to the passive reward in the solo content that gives you "advice".
Yes, Peter just explained how it might "force" you to pick AoE if board looks bad for you. And it's not restricted to the class you play, you can get choices from any class.
It is however restricted to classic or basic set
There also seemed to be a suggestion that the card must be in your collection.

They always play games and reveal cards as they play, and then they do a dump for all the stuff they didn't get to show off. So its not just them showing all the cards and being done with it.
they will dump the rest after the stream
