We've got a round of new card backs in the Hearthstone client with today's patch including one that... is very familiar.

The first two card backs that were added were Katrana and Firelord.

  • Katrana

    • Acquired by pre-purchasing United in Stormwind.
  • Firelord
    • Ragnaros has decided to flex his almighty power by having multiple card backs named after him.
    • Acquired by purchasing the Fire Festival bundle.

Seriously though, that's a lot of card backs, Ragnaros.

The Third Card Back - A Familiar Face

The third card back has a placeholder model in the form of the Classic card back. This card back is called "Unseen Gleams" and is acquired by logging in on a Huawei device. This isn't the first time we've seen device-specific card backs, but it is the first time they've added in a card back that was a clone of the classic back.

  • Unseen Gleams: Get fired up for victory, and you'll always shine bright! Acquired by logging in on a Huawei device.

But wait, there's more! We're assuming this promotion is not ready for prime time yet because the actual card back IS in the client in the form of an image. This card back is one of the runner-ups in the China card back competition from earlier this year! We're going to show you the original card back and the client image, in that order, down below.

This card back isn't properly modeled yet though, so that'll likely come in a future patch.
