Konami posted an update regarding unreachable Gems in ranked mode via Master Duel's in-game notification system. They will be sending compensation Gems for players that ended the ranked season in Platinum Tier in the coming months. The wording makes it sound like they'll be compensating for Silver Tier 4 through Gold Tier 5. That would translate to about 400 Gems.

Furthermore, they have made it so that players who have Platinum Rank will be able to demote themselves to Gold by intentionally losing Duels. This is a temporary situation, and they intend to improve Ranked to avoid this kind of thing in the future.
