We've got a new featured location in Marvel Snap and it's Hell's Kitchen!
- Hell's Kitchen - Draw a 1-cost card from your deck.
Hell's Kitchen is a completely new location being added to Marvel Snap as part of the August Season: Heroes for Hire. On the turn it's revealed, Hell's Kitchen will draw each player a 1-cost card from their deck (if they have any to draw).
As a Featured Location, Hell's Kitchen should incentivize players to pack an extra 1-drop in their deck for the next couple of days, specifically because the extra draw it provides thins out their deck and gives them a better chance of seeing their key (non 1-cost) cards. Beyond that, there's a handful of cheap cards that could benefit from this effect. Ebony Maw, for example, can't be played after turn 3 - so the tutor effect that guarantees him in hand by turn 3 is a great way to make sure he isn't a later dead draw. 1-drops with specific synergies like Iron Fist and Zero could also be used to take advantage of the location.
However you choose to plan for the new location, you'd better get used to it; being a featured location means that Hell's Kitchen will show up 40% more frequently for 48 hours, from 8 PM PT Tuesday night to 8 PM PT Thursday night.
You can’t play this after turn 3. Ongoing: You can’t play cards here. On Reveal: Move the next card you play one location to the left after it reveals.
What Are Featured Locations in Marvel Snap?
There are two different types of location events in Marvel Snap.
- Sunday's hot location that appears 60% more frequently for the next 24 hours.
- Wednesday's featured location that appears 40% more frequently for the next 48 hours.
This helps pave way for new deckbuilding strategies as you may want to be playing something else should the bonus better benefit cards you aren't playing with. For example, we've seen this previously with the featured location, Monster Island, whose boosted appearances meant many players ran Shang-Chi to destroy the 9 Power Monster.
As announced in the developer livestream, Marvel Snap will be getting a brand new location every week and it will be featured when it is added, as we're seeing now with Hell's Kitchen.
