MARVEL SNAP's Hot Location this weekend is The Space Throne!

The Space Throne is a punishing location to play with... when it shows up unexpectedly. If you're expecting it, you can pick a couple of cards to add in to your deck to take advantage of the location that allows only one card to be there for each player. Do you run something like Dracula to get a big body to the location (without risking a final turn Shang-Chi)? Or do you punish your opponent with a Green Goblin?

However you choose to plan for the Hot Location, you'd better get used to it; being a Hot Location means that The Space Throne will have a 60% chance to appear for 24 hours, from 7 PM PT Saturday night to 7 PM PT Sunday night (2 AM UTC Sunday to 2 AM UTC Monday).

Hot Decks for The Space Throne

If you're looking for ideas of what decks you can play to the Hot Location, we've got you covered: with recommended decks for players just starting out in Series 1, players still moving up through Series 2, and players who are starting to fill their collections with cards from Series 3, 4, and 5.

Series 1 Ongoing

This deck with cards from Series 1 is pretty well positioned to take advantage of The Space Throne, with Namor to benefit from sitting on the Throne all alone, and Mister Fantastic and Klaw to add Power to the hot location.

Series 2 Dinosaur

Devil Dinosaur is a great card for The Space Throne, and this deck looks to maximize his effectiveness. If you can't find the Dino, Jessica Jones can be another decent body to hold it down instead, or you can wipe the location away with Storm.

Series 3 Dracula Discard

This discard deck runs Dracula to get an early body to the hot location that isn't vulnerable to removal, or use Wong and MODOK to clear out your hand (and potentially get a few free Swarm to go with a turn 6 play).

Series 3 Clutter

If your entire goal in life is to make your opponent hate you, you can't do much more than this Clutter deck that has a variety of creative ways to force your opponent to fill their locations with junk. Green Goblin (or Hobgoblin) can close to guarantee The Space Throne in your favor, while using Doctor Octopus to drain your opponent's resources. Alternately, you can lock everyone out of The Space Throne with Debrii.

Series 3 Zero Infinaut

If big things are what the hot location wants, then this deck runs lots of them. It's got the expected Dracula and The Infinaut, while also running Magneto and Red Skull to get big bodies to the other locations - the logic being that the opponent can only play one Shang-Chi.

What are Hot Locations in MARVEL SNAP?

There are two different types of location events in MARVEL SNAP.

  • Sunday's Hot Location that have a 60% chance to appear for the next 24 hours.
  • Wednesday's Featured Location that have a 40% chance to appear for the next 48 hours.

Unlike the Featured Location (which is always a new Location), Sunday's Hot Location will pull from the pool of existing Locations. Its increased appearance rate will shake up the meta for a day - for example, Odin was the finisher of choice for many players when Kamar-Taj was the Hot Location.
