Starting today we'll be seeing a lot more spoilers for MTG's next expansion, Theros: Beyond Death, until it releases on January 16 for MTG Arena. In this set we'll be returning to a world of powerful gods, last visited in 2013 throughout the Theros block (Theros > Born of the Gods > Journey into Nyx). We'll see new mechanics like Escape and some returning ones, such as, Constellation and Devotion. Join Elspeth as she continues her battle on this plane, where even death cannot hold her in the grave.

One of the things I've never forgiven MtG for is making dual lands so rare/expensive. I can sympathize with making game-changing cards like planeswalkers or those gods cards mythic, but dual lands are essentially just an insurance policy against getting a bad shuffle. Making them more scarce--and effectively rising the street price of all competitive non-mono decks--always seemed like a d*ck move to me.
The thing is, dual lands are really good. I mean like, really good. Like, so so good.
There is no way you could reduce the rarity to common, and bumping it down to uncommon wouldn't really make them any harder to get than making them common would be. Rare is a nice place for them to be in, though I do agree that making them appear more often would be nice.
I am afraid that the price can't be helped though. Wizards of the Coast can't control the price of the cards, it is all up to the sites/stores that sell them. There is a set market price, but Wizards doesn't control that.
I don't know what you could do to make them easier to get but still pay due respect to how good they are.
I agree that it's a pain to get the lands. I always feel like I'm getting a raw deal when I have to use Wildcards to craft them. There's always some other key card for a deck that I'd rather be making.
So many cool cards. I can't wait for the expansion to get here!
Wrath of Storm, Woe Strider, and Thirst for Knowledge are my favorites.
