Whizbang's Workshop Reveals for February 20th 2024
Here are all the cards that have been revealed for Whizbang's Workshop on February 20th.
Puzzlemaster Khadgar's token:
Quote From Ridiculous Hat khadgar's wisdomball has a set pool of well-known mage spells (things like fireball, blizzard, polymorph, etc) it evaluates which of those could be useful on the current board, and then randomly casts one of the spells deemed useful!
here's the list of helpful mage spells: Arcane Intellect, Flamestrike, Polymorph, Arcane Missiles, Mirror Image, Counterspell, Ice Barrier, Blizzard, Frostbolt, Fireball
In what case the wisdomball can cast arcane missiles instead of fireball for more damages or just cast blizzard..or it just 'random'? BTW can it be smart to read spell damage?
arcane missiles has a chance to cast if opponent has at least one 1 health minion
In the video PlayHearthstone posted, a minion we haven't seen yet briefly appears, but we know nothing else about it at this time:
What do you think about today's Whizbang card reveals?

Is there a full reveal schedule for this expansion? The link on this page that’s supposed to go there takes me to the reveal schedule for Badlands.
Can we please updated this link to point to the new expansion reveal schedule, thanks 🙃
Yes please! I also sorely miss the countdown on the main page, it was my go to place to find out when the next reveal is going to happen :/
Is there no more individual card postings in the forum anymore?
But the card itself? Well, its fine. Im almost certain this card will see play, and in fact it wouldnt surprise me if all mage archetypes play it. As for how good it'll be, likely not very good, because we've all been burned by wisdomball before.
Prob at best the card is good enough to clear board, most of the time. But really, if you're relying on this thing to save your arse you'd prob be left disappointed more often than not.
Saving your arse ? it has 6 durability which means your opponent can't fill their board for "6 turns" without destroying this thing knowing that it will cast Flamestrike again and again or they just can't play a big minion and sit back like Ragnaros for example because of Polymorph for 6 turns. It is even good enough to play on an empty board for free secrets and draws and i think 6-mana for a 5/5 draw two cards is good enough for an empty board.
It is a disruptor more than an arse savior. Like secrets which you know there is a counterspell or minion counter and you have to sacrifice sth.
I might be overestimating the card but you re also definitely underestimated there too.
Its definitely one of those cards that can only be judged after playtesting. But from my own impression, it really looks like something that simply cannot be relied on.
So your opponent has two big minions + several smaller ones. This thing may well just cast polymorph, hit the wrong target and get you screwed. Or it'll cast flamestrike, killing the smaller dudes while leaving two giants on board. And in any case, since it activates at the end of the turn, it'll always be a coin toss as to whether you can trust it to do the right thing, or dealing with the threats yourself.
My own opinion is that it'll see play, because of course it would. Even having random spells is better than nothing but it'll never be as good as it seem. Even if it does, we can pretty much expect vipers to be everywhere anyway.
On curve, you might be right but for end game, 4 mana is enough to do extra stuff to help it out to deal with the extra threats that you describe.
I was just thinking that mage was too predictable in its play patterns!
(That was a lie, I wasn't thinking that.)
Changing your eye colour doesn't make you any less recognizable, Khad :P
This is an interesting card. Seems to be a Mage-Specific Zephyrs where you don't pick the card, but you get 6 of them. Curious to see how good it is.
