We've got two new cards thanks to a promotional email sent out by Blizzard.

Interestingly, these two cards being revealed tell us much more. Some of the recently shared leaks, have more authenticity now!

These two cards are confirmed to be real.

  • I'm hoping that warrior card (Hazardous Captain? Captain of Risks?) is legit - maybe its my local meta but honestly 15% of my matchups this past week have been Galakrond Warlock so definitely useful to have more low-cost/low damage AOE against them.

Same with the Hailstorm elemental - Blizz just keeps printing wonderful additions to my Wild Odd Elemental DK Jaina deck - can play that and then HP one of the icicles to get a 1/1, a 3/4, and a 3/6 with lifesteal plus two of them having freeze all for only 7 mana? Yes, please!

  • Following the previous reveal it was obvious that we were going to get big spell shaman synergies. Cool stuff

Summon two 1/1 Icicles with Freeze

What does that even mean? Icicles themselves are frozen or they freeze the enemy when they attack? Both would be quite bad.

    • That would be two tokens, each named Icicle, with the Freeze keyword being the only text they have.

That would be two tokens, each named Icicle, with the Freeze keyword being the only text they have.

...but the keyword Freeze never appears by itself, it always has some explanatory text--"Battlecry: Freeze a character", "Freeze any character damaged by this minion", etc.

The two most likely possibilities IMO are: (a) Summon two 1/1 icicles with "Freeze any character damaged by this minion" (so, basically, create two mini Water Elementals); or (b) Summon two 1/1 icicles that start out as Frozen.

Of those two, (a) seems far more likely, since (b) would not be very useful--if you play Granizador on turn 5, you get two icicles that are frozen and exhausted; on turn 6 they're just frozen, which wears off at the end of turn 6, so you can actually attack with them on turn 7. I don't see much use in tokens that can't do anything for two turns...

      • So, are they just 1/1s that cannot attack? Or is Freeze a new keyword?
        • Like this Water Elemental but maybe it will be official ketword, who knows.

  • Is freeze a new keyword?

    • yep, anyone who attack that will be frozen. same like water elemental

    • No, Freeze is not a new keyword, it exist on Mage and Shaman and some neutral cards

    • I believe it might be a slight quirk of translation - I think they'll have the Water Elemental effect.

Perhaps it's meant to say "that Freeze", instead of "with Freeze".

      • i'm a spanish speaker and i comfirm. the card says "that Freeze".
