SOEDESCO and Xelo Games have released a new trailer for their upcoming open-world narrative exploration game, Petit Island. The trailer showcases the charming characters and highlights some gameplay features that players can look forward to when the game launches later this year. This comes two years after we got a first look teaser at the game all the way back during Summer Game Fest 2022; The game has clearly come a long way!
Without even having a chance to play it, the game vibes pure Animal Crossing with a cozy art style on a tropical island filled with "ancient secrets, hidden treasures, unique wildlife, and vibrant communities". We'll get to help our "Grandpaw" relive his adventuring days by capturing photos with our camera and also customize our character to "reflect [our] unique style".
Of course, villagers are also present on the island, and have their own identities which hopefully leads to interactions that are more in-depth than New Horizons was able to offer.
There are also mounts! Give me that llama!
The game looks mega chill.
The game will be featuring during tomorrow's Wholesome Direct during Summer Game Fest and we'll get a chance to see it during Steam Next Fest from June 10 through June 17.
