Sony Announces the Playstation 5 Pro - Larger CPU, Advanced Ray-Tracing, and AI Upscapling Result in Double Performance

Sony just announced the PS5 Pro, an updated version of the PlayStation 5. You can watch the entire presentation below or read their dedicated Blog Post, but the gist of it is that the new model is overall twice as powerful as the base PS5 model, delivering 60FPS gameplay without sacrificing fidelity. This is achieved by having a larger CPU, improved ray-tracing technology, and a proprietary form of AI upscaling called PSSR.

The console is scheduled to launch on November 9th for 699.99 USD, 699.99 GBP, 799.99 EUR, 119,980 Japanese Yen, or your regional equivalent. The promotional material for the console only shows a digital version, but it is compatible with the PS5 "Slim" Blue-Ray drive (sold separately, much like the vertical stand).

What do you think of the PS5 Pro? Will you be upgrading, or are you happy with the base model? Let us know in the comments below!

Just a guy with opinions video games who decided to share it with everyone against their will :P. I specifically like single-player games and card games, though usually not what's most popular at the moment.

Out of Games is an independent gaming site. Read about how we cover games.
